Viam is hiring a part-time Content Marketing Manager to join a hybrid team in New York. This hands-on role (24 hours per week) reports to the VP of Marketing and focuses on developer-facing social content, with support for launches, campaigns, and Viam Education efforts to drive discovery and product adoption.
Role Overview
This is a contract position for 3 months, starting ASAP. The work schedule is 24 hours per week. The role is based in New York, NY (hybrid, 3 days in office) and is designed for an independent IC who can take raw material and produce publication-ready content.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the role primarily owns social content across Viam’s channels and also partners with internal teams including DevRel, Growth, and Brand to support major launches, campaigns, and Viam Education initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, design, schedule, and publish content across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and Instagram.
- Transform technical source material into channel-native assets, including short-form video, threads, product posts, and event content.
- Own Viam’s Twitter/X presence and maintain a consistent, credible voice for developers.
- Manage Viam’s YouTube channel, including uploads, titles, descriptions, metadata, and organization.
- Write occasional blog posts by collaborating with engineers and other technical subject matter experts.
- Support content needs around major product launches, campaigns, and Viam Education initiatives.
- Review performance biweekly, determine what is working, identify what is not, and adjust accordingly.
- Brief and provide feedback to video support when needed.
Requirements
- Experience creating developer-focused content, such as social content for a developer tool, technical SaaS product, or other similarly technical audience.
- Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to recognize what software engineers will find compelling and extract the story from technical material.
- Excellent writing skills, producing copy that is precise, clear, human, and avoids marketing hype.
- Strong visual instincts, with the ability to independently produce polished assets in Canva and think across text, image, and short-form video. Adobe experience is a plus.
- High independence in taking a brief or raw idea, defining an angle, and returning finished work with a point of view.
- A portfolio or examples of relevant work across social, video, writing, or other content tailored to technical audiences.

Compensation
The hourly range is USD 30 to 45. The range reflects openness to candidates at different experience levels, including early-career talent with strong work samples and more experienced content marketers.
