Marketing & Social Media Coordinator
Job Description
Join Nueva Esperanza in a role based in Philadelphia, PA (onsite) where you help bring Marketing & Communications initiatives to life. This position coordinates projects, develops clear messaging, and manages social media and newsletters to support the promotion of Esperanza programs and events, working under the direction of the VP of Marketing & Communications.
You will collaborate with a mix of internal and external partners, track performance using KPIs and analytics, and keep communication processes organized in shared tools such as SharePoint. The role also supports media relations and ensures messaging stays consistent across channels, from social posts to press materials.
What you’ll do
- Review, coordinate, and prioritize production and consultation requests, campaign planning, and marketing projects in partnership with the VP of Marketing & Communications and the Creative Director.
- Support execution by engaging Communications Advocates, contractors, interns, and volunteers while maintaining a positive internal customer service experience.
- Track, review, and report on KPIs, social media analytics, media mentions, and audience engagement metrics to guide marketing decisions.
- Maintain and update project trackers, and keep contracts, brand standards, established processes, and standard operating procedures organized and current in SharePoint.
- Maintain organizational communication lists and support accurate data collection and database management within Salsa and related platforms.
- Ensure social media channels remain current, preserving the identities of specific programs and pages when needed, and reflecting them on main organizational pages through tagging and recognition strategies.
- Drive engagement by responding to comments and messages according to guidelines, supporting meaningful interactions, and helping meet campaign objectives and performance goals.
- Promote Esperanza programs through newsletters, digital communications, banners, and external media partnerships.
- Coordinate and distribute weekly communications content to media outlets, schools, community partners, and organizational stakeholders.
- Maintain shared files including hashtags, social media handles, media contacts, and partner information for executives, Board members, stakeholders, and funders.
- Draft, proofread, and coordinate distribution of social media content, press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and other communications materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, grammar, and formatting.
- Support media relations by assisting leadership with spokesperson preparation, press opportunities, publications, and visibility initiatives.
- Coordinate outreach, registration, and event materials, ensuring sign-up forms are included and constituent data collection is supported within organizational communication platforms.
- Collaborate with Development and departments to ensure accurate messaging and proper recognition of funders, donors, partners, and stakeholders across communications and fundraising efforts.
- Keep event tabling materials, promotional assets, visual displays, and digital screens current, organized, and well-stocked.
- Collaborate on agency promotional materials, including brochures, capability statements, toolkits, orientation materials, videos, and annual impact reports.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with bilingual consultants, vendors, freelancers, and media contacts to support responsive workflows.
- Handle administrative coordination including purchase orders, payments, vendor payroll, and credit card reconciliations according to organizational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate Communications Advocates meetings, including presentations, invitations, and follow-up communications.
- Support additional marketing and communications projects as assigned, including project management tasks to ensure timely completion.
- Draft press releases and media advisories, and support invoicing and communication efforts with vendors and freelancers.
- Develop key messaging aligned with the department calendar and organizational strategy, and schedule/manage social content through the designated platform.
What you bring
- Bilingual Spanish and English.
- 2+ years of marketing experience with a proven understanding of social media and email marketing campaigns.
- A BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study (required).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with coworkers, external partners, and the community.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including excellent proofreading.
- Strong project management with the ability to meet tight timelines and budgets.
- Ability to create content and apply copywriting skills.
- Ability to develop and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms and comfort with marketing technologies and learning new platforms quickly.
- Experience implementing organic social media strategies.
- Ability to manage and create content for multiple social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Digital marketing savvy with knowledge of marketing trends, including social and content marketing.
- Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) is preferred in addition to the requirement.

Work environment
- Primarily indoors in a professional setting with moderate background noise and consistent temperature; occasional outdoor time for events.
- Schedule may require occasional work outside traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Travel between locations may be required.

Reporting and collaboration
- Reports to: Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
- Supervises: Consultants/vendors, interns, and volunteers as appropriate.
- Engages approximately eight communications-related points of contact across the company and must be able to interact directly with senior executives as needed.
