Social Marketing Channel Manager
Job Description
GEICO is hiring a Social Marketing Channel Manager to own the day-to-day stewardship of brand social accounts in a hybrid role based in Manhattan, NY or Bethesda, MD. You will help run the social “newsroom” by sourcing and monitoring real-time content, while keeping every post organized, compliant, and ready to publish across platforms. Compensation is market-competitive, with $100,450.00 to $157,850.00 per year.
This is a role with meaningful ownership: you will maintain the publishing calendar, oversee tag and collaboration mechanics, and ensure talent and IP usage rights are tracked with clear records. You’ll also coordinate cross-functionally so social programming stays aligned with broader campaigns.
What you’ll do
- Own the publishing calendar and programming cadence across all GEICO brand social accounts, balancing always-on posts with real-time opportunities.
- Act as the final checkpoint on what publishes, ensuring content is on-brand, on-strategy, and technically ready for each platform.
- Manage tag and collab mechanics for partner, creator, and co-branded content, ensuring each post meets platform and legal requirements.
- Own compliance tracking for talent and IP usage rights, maintaining records of what is licensed, for how long, and where it can run.
- Partner with Legal and brand partners to flag and resolve rights issues before content goes live.
- Monitor real-time trends, news, and cultural moments relevant to GEICO and act as the social newsroom director.
- Source content from effective channels including creators, UGC, AI, agency partners, and internal teams, then route it into the publishing pipeline.
- Build and maintain a network of go-to content sources, vetting new ones as platforms and formats evolve.
- Facilitate communication across Social Content Strategists, Media, Legal, Creative, and Partnerships to keep programming aligned with broader campaigns.
- Flag scheduling conflicts, rights gaps, or content gaps early and drive them toward resolution.
- Maintain trackers and tools such as Airtable to keep programming, tagging, and rights status visible to the team.
What you bring
- Experience managing the day-to-day programming and publishing for a brand’s social channels, including what always-on requires.
- Hands-on experience handling tag, collab, or usage-rights mechanics for creator or partner content while keeping production moving.
- A newsroom mindset for spotting moments worth acting on and sourcing the right content quickly.
- Experience working in a business where marketing ties to customer acquisition and retention, not just brand awareness.
- Track record aligning cross-functional teams (creative, legal, media, analytics) on a fast-moving publishing calendar.
- Strong risk awareness, catching rights or compliance issues before they become problems.
- AI fluency as a core workflow, using tools like Claude or Copilot to draft calendars and sort through content efficiently.
- Direct experience managing talent, influencer, or IP usage rights and tracking compliance across a fast-moving pipeline.
- Experience sourcing content from creators, stock services, or agency partners for real-time or newsroom-style publishing.
- Solid background partnering with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Creative, and Analytics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and project or content management software such as Airtable; comfortable using AI tools like Claude or Copilot; well versed in Sprinklr.
- Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
