Marketing and Communications Manager
Job Description
Benilde-St. Margaret's School is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to help advance enrollment, advancement, and school priorities through integrated marketing and clear, consistent storytelling. This onsite, full-time role supports a two-person marketing and communications team by planning, executing, and managing campaigns across digital and traditional channels while ensuring brand alignment across every touchpoint.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns supporting enrollment, advancement, summer programs, academic initiatives, and other strategic school priorities.
- Partner with the Director of Marketing & Communications to shape audience-focused messaging, campaign strategy, and marketing plans.
- Coordinate multi-channel campaign execution across email, website, social media, digital advertising, print, and other communication channels.
- Manage campaign schedules, deliverables, assets, and stakeholder approvals to keep projects on track and aligned with strategic goals.
- Track campaign performance and provide recommendations to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain BSMSchool.org, ensuring content stays accurate, current, engaging, and consistent with brand standards.
- Coordinate website updates, landing page creation, and content optimization efforts.
- Support SEO, website analytics, and broader digital marketing initiatives.
- Manage email marketing campaigns, including audience segmentation, deployment, reporting, and ongoing optimization.
- Write, edit, and proofread marketing and communications materials such as website content, newsletters, emails, promotional collateral, news stories, and press releases.
- Support recurring communications, including the weekly parent newsletter.
- Identify and develop student, faculty, alumni, and school stories to strengthen storytelling efforts through photos, video, and written collateral.
- Serve as editor of the alumni magazine Crown & Shield, including content planning, collection, editing, production, and distribution.
- Plan and execute social media content across platforms to support school priorities and increase audience engagement.
- Monitor social media performance and analytics, then recommend adjustments based on results.
- Apply BSM brand standards consistently across marketing and communications materials.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities with clear timelines and communication.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, agencies, freelancers, and production partners to deliver marketing initiatives.
- Support maintaining annual marketing calendars, campaign schedules, and communications plans.
- Assist in prioritizing and managing incoming marketing requests from departments across the school.
Requirements and qualifications
- Upbeat, driven individual with strong visual and creative skills for digital communications.
- Dynamic storyteller able to create engaging student achievement stories in photos, video, and written collateral.
- Project management skills with outstanding time management.
- Service-oriented mindset, supporting departments and stakeholders throughout the school (internal and external).
- Efficient and well organized, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Effective writing with attention to detail, including knowledge and use of AP style.
- Proactive, professional, collaborative team player.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Ideally 4-7 years of relevant professional experience; minimum experience: 3 years (Marketing).
- Demonstrated experience executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Experience managing websites, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Experience working with external vendors, agencies, or creative partners preferred.
- Videography/video editing experience: 2 years (required).
