Job Description

Join Garmin International, Inc. as a full-time Content Marketing Specialist at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area (onsite in Olathe, KS). This role supports Garmin’s customer-focused storytelling by helping publish original blog content end-to-end, optimizing it for search performance, and partnering across teams on integrated campaigns aligned with Garmin business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Generate original, creative blog post concepts aimed at attracting both new and existing Garmin customers.
  • Own a story idea from initial research and creative copy through editing and approval, coordinating with other departments so stories are ready for publication and supported for maximum readership.
  • Use knowledge of Garmin’s business segments and marketing objectives to choose which topics to cover based on readership goals, without management direction.
  • Develop and execute a plan to optimize content for search engine performance (including Google) to drive maximum results.
  • Work as a Garmin “reporter” by conducting interviews with internal and external parties, following leads, and building stories in Associate Press (AP) style.
  • Maintain Garmin.com blog content by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance, updating toward current marketing objectives, and using independent judgment to edit, update, or remove content as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other departments to recommend, develop, and run integrated content campaigns that may include blog, PR, social, and eblast as assigned.
  • Manage multiple time-sensitive projects at once by setting priorities and triaging urgent needs.
  • Complete additional Garmin.com duties as assigned by the Content Marketing Manager.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, plus 2+ years of demonstrated professional experience as a journalist, communications strategist, marketing specialist, writer, or content curator.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to write and edit both long-form and short-form content.
  • Demonstrated content marketing strategy knowledge and experience implementing it.
  • Ability to work on deadlines.
  • Experience optimizing content with GEO/SEO and Google Analytics in mind.
  • Strong passion for Garmin business and products.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sprinklr, WordPress, or other content management software.
  • Understanding of web publishing requirements.
  • Demonstrated editorial mindset and the ability to anticipate audience preferences.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English, with ownership of previous published writing samples.
