Job Description

The Chief Marketing Officer will shape Suncor Stainless/Atlantis Rail's marketing strategy, own the product roadmap, and lead go-to-market, customer insights, and team development within a profitable manufacturing and distribution environment. This executive role reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering.

Location and Compensation

Location: Plymouth, MA (onsite)

Annual Salary: USD 160,000 - 220,000

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy and brand narrative, shaping positioning across all channels and audiences.
  • Create and scale integrated programs spanning digital, content, trade, and field marketing.
  • Oversee demand generation and pipeline development in close collaboration with the Sales organization.
  • Manage external communications, public relations, and industry presence.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, defining requirements, and coordinating with Engineering and Operations to bring new products to market.
  • Facilitate collaboration between Marketing and Product to ensure market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback inform product direction.
  • Determine product positioning, packaging, and pricing for both new and existing lines.
  • Establish and govern a structured product development lifecycle balancing speed with quality.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and execution for new launches, including segmentation, channel plans, launch sequencing, and sales enablement.
  • Create and maintain playbooks that translate product capabilities into sales tools, customer messaging, and competitive differentiation.
  • Collaborate with distributors and channel partners to ensure scalable market activation.
  • Develop a systematic approach to gathering and acting on customer insights, from voice-of-customer programs to market research and win/loss analysis.
  • Infuse customer insights into product development to ensure the roadmap reflects real market needs.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends, delivering timely strategic guidance to the executive team.
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing and product management team.
  • Design the organizational structure, processes, and systems required to scale a go-to-market engine.
  • Define KPIs, reporting cadences, and accountability frameworks across the function.
  • Act as an executive sponsor for major customer and partner relationships.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of senior marketing leadership experience, including at least three years in a VP or C-suite capacity.
  • Proven track record in product management or as a marketing leader with direct product ownership and shipped products.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrials, or related sectors is preferred; deep understanding of physical product businesses is required.
  • Demonstrated success leading both brand and demand marketing alongside product functions simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical orientation with data-driven strategy and accountability for P&L.
  • History of cross-functional influence, operating as a peer to Sales, Operations, and Finance leaders.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
