Role overview: The specialist will support the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for ASCO products and services, handling content creation, channel scheduling, quality assurance, and campaign analysis. This hybrid, Alexandria, VA based position collaborates across teams to advance ASCO's mission.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns for assigned ASCO products and services in support of business goals.
- Align marketing and communications strategies with overall ICM department goals.
- Develop content and messaging frameworks to increase brand awareness and engagement with ASCO members and the global oncology community.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine creative messaging needs for focus areas enabling emails, ads, and posts across multiple digital platforms.
- Manage content development for assigned ASCO products and service areas, producing promotional collateral, messaging frameworks, social media copy, digital advertising copy, email content, print, and direct mail.
- Apply internal QA policies to ensure clear, concise communications that follow branding standards and ASCO policies.
- Work with the director and marketing analytics team to develop post-campaign reports.
- Serve as back-up to department directors and leaders.
- Liaise with external agencies as needed, monitor invoices and budgets for channels, process invoices, and ensure campaigns remain within budget.
- Guide executive and volunteer leadership in their roles as ASCO thought leaders and spokespeople when appropriate.
- Undertake assignments to support ICM department needs and ASCO objectives.
- Collaborate with ICM team members (PR/Media, Comms, Digital, Brand, Web) to ensure seamless execution of marketing campaigns, providing direction and timely asset delivery.
- Serve as the supporting marketing contact for program stakeholders, building strong relationships to translate objectives into effective campaign goals and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5–6 years of experience in a marketing agency, internal marketing department, or association/nonprofit.
- Multi-channel marketing experience across email, web, paid ads, organic social, video content, and more.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and a marketing project management platform.

Approximately 6 to 10 days per year.
Compensation
This is an exempt position with a salary range of $80,000 to $96,900 annually. The range reflects the minimum and maximum ASCO expects to offer for a new hire across the U.S. Offers are determined based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Preferred education and experience
- Experience in design development and maintaining brand standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in oncology, health care, or scientific/medical meetings and event marketing.
