Job Description
This full‑time, hybrid role is based in Morgantown, West Virginia and supports WVU Health Sciences Communications and Marketing in building a multi‑channel content strategy, producing branded content, and overseeing HTML email campaigns and analytics to advance the Health Sciences mission and leadership social portfolios.

Responsibilities
- Actively engage on social channels to strengthen the department’s reputation and cultivate relationships with key audiences, producing fresh, branded content daily.
- Capture and edit compelling video and photo assets for social media and marketing efforts, highlighting Health Sciences experts as leaders in the field.
- Design, build, and manage responsive HTML email campaigns that connect social engagement with direct digital outreach, ensuring a seamless experience for constituents.
- Develop monthly and quarterly web and social analytics that go beyond vanity metrics to assess conversion paths and audience sentiment.
- Use competitive intelligence and reporting to inform future strategy, identifying content pillars and digital tactics that deliver the highest ROI for Health Sciences.
- Oversee daily operations across all social platforms, including copy creation, community management, real-time engagement, and maintaining a robust social planning calendar.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple units to align priorities and expectations as needs evolve.
- Collaborate closely with the Health Sciences Communications and Marketing team and across units to execute branding initiatives and affiliated web content, proactively generating ideas and sourcing content from the five academic schools, affiliated partners, and leaders.
- Provide crisis monitoring and rapid social customer service to resolve issues and safeguard user experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, or a related field is required.
- At least two years of experience in social media management, marketing, or digital content creation.
- Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of hire.
- Valid driver’s license, as local and regional travel may be required.
- Experience with HTML and HTML email design.
