This senior management role drives the strategy and execution of fundraising, development, marketing, and communications for Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity. Based in Pitman, NJ onsite, the position focuses on increasing philanthropic revenue, enhancing visibility, and maintaining mission-aligned messaging across all channels.
Position Purpose
The Manager of Fundraising, Development, Marketing, and Communications leads fundraising, marketing, and communications efforts for the organization. The role is accountable for growing philanthropic income, strengthening organizational visibility, and ensuring consistent messaging that supports Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity’s affordable housing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual development plan aligned with Board-approved revenue goals.
- Oversee fundraising activities across individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grants, and special events.
- Advance donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship practices to support long-term sustainability.
- Coordinate Board engagement related to fundraising and donor relationship activities.
- Establish and maintain organizational branding and marketing standards.
- Direct marketing strategies that promote programs, ReStore operations, events, and community impact.
- Ensure messaging consistency across platforms and materials.
- Lead internal and external communications, including newsletters, digital communications, press releases, and impact reporting.
- Serve as a primary liaison with media and external communications partners, in coordination with the Executive Director.
- Support crisis and issue communications as needed.
- Oversee planning and execution of fundraising and community engagement events.
- Cultivate relationships with businesses, civic organizations, municipalities, and community stakeholders to advance awareness and support.
- Supervise development, marketing, and communications volunteers.
- Collaborate with program, construction, and ReStore leadership to ensure messaging reflects organizational priorities and outcomes.
- Promote a professional, mission-driven culture aligned with Habitat for Humanity values.
- Participate in the development and management of the development and communications budget.
- Track and report key performance indicators, including fundraising results, donor growth and retention, grant performance, and communications reach.
- Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards, grant requirements, and organizational policies.
- Provide regular reporting to the Executive Director for inclusion in Board reporting.
Authority and Scope
- Has authority over development strategy, donor relations, grant development, marketing and branding standards, and internal and external communications within Board-approved annual budget, strategic plan, and organizational policies.
- Provides regular reporting to the Executive Director and supports Board oversight through transparent performance metrics and compliance reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit management, development, marketing, or communications.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising and communications, including leadership or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated success meeting revenue goals and managing donor and grant relationships.
- Experience in affordable housing, community development, or mission-based organizations.
- Experience working with Boards of Directors and volunteer leadership.
Performance Evaluation
Performance is evaluated annually by the Executive Director based on Board-approved goals and metrics, including fundraising performance, donor engagement, communications effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with organizational strategy.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: USD 55,000 - 60,000 per year (subject to Board approval).
