Marketing Content Writer
Job Description
Higginbotham is hiring a Marketing Content Writer to develop and publish long-form marketing content across its brands and specialty program business. Working onsite in Lehi, UT, you will collaborate with Digital Marketing and Program Management teams to produce on-brand messaging that supports traffic, engagement, lead generation, and conversion goals, with writing as the central focus.
What you’ll do
- Write, edit, and refresh copy for websites, landing pages, blogs, articles, email campaigns, ad copy, print collateral, partner assets, and other marketing materials.
- Create clear, audience-focused messaging aligned with brand standards and designed to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion outcomes.
- Research and translate insurance concepts, product features, and program differentiators into content for external audiences.
- Interview subject matter experts, clients, and program stakeholders to source accurate, credible details for articles and campaign content.
- Support content needs for specialty program launches, campaign updates, and ongoing promotional initiatives.
- Own the social media content process end-to-end, including ideation, copywriting, graphic and video creation, and scheduling/publishing.
- Write and design social posts for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts across multiple brands and specialty program lines.
- Develop post concepts and reusable templates to keep content fresh, on-brand, and efficient to produce at volume.
- Create graphics and short-form video or motion content using appropriate design and editing tools.
- Schedule and publish content using Agorapulse or native platform scheduling tools, while maintaining an organized content calendar.
- Tailor tone, format, and messaging for each platform and target audience instead of repurposing one post for all channels.
- Create guest or promotional posts so partner organizations can publish on their own social profiles.
- Apply on-page SEO best practices and keyword guidance to improve discoverability and content performance.
- Stay current on social trends, platform algorithm updates, formats, and best practices, and bring new ideas to the team.
- Use platform-specific best practices, including hashtags, captions, posting cadence, and accessibility, to improve reach and engagement.
- Maintain editorial and social content calendars, content priorities, and publication timelines aligned with marketing campaigns.
- Review, proofread, and refine content for grammar, clarity, tone, accuracy, and brand consistency.
- Monitor performance indicators such as traffic, engagement, search rankings, follower growth, click-through, and conversion signals, and recommend content updates based on insights.
- Support A/B testing of post copy, creative, formats, and campaign variations to continually improve results.
- Partner with marketers, subject matter experts, designers, and program stakeholders to gather inputs and produce effective content.
- Support Digital Marketing with copy for nurture journeys, campaign assets, calls to action, product launches, and A/B testing variations.
- Assist with content for sales enablement, external publications, event materials, and other audience-facing communications as needed.
- Maintain organized workflows and content calendars across multiple assignments, brands, products, and partners in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in journalism, reporting, content writing, copywriting, or a related marketing communications role.
- Demonstrated experience creating content for blogs, websites, emails, ads, landing pages, or similar long-form formats.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format for different audiences and channels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Property & Casualty license preferred, or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe with company support.
- Completion of relevant training or coursework as determined by the company upon hire.
- Ability to lift twenty-five pounds.
- Frequent use of vision to read documents and computer screens; frequent use of hearing and speech to communicate by phone and in person.
- Repetitive hand movements, including typing and writing; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and stretch as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for client meetings or industry events.
