Job Description

Nintendo is seeking a seasoned Social Media Marketing Manager to guide merchandise marketing across owned social channels and contribute to hardware and software campaigns. Based in Redmond, WA with a hybrid work setup, the role aims to reach consumers beyond core gamers and position Nintendo as a lifestyle brand. The position will collaborate with regional teams and the Strategic Initiatives group to align programs and maximize cross-team opportunities.

Position Summary

The Social Media Manager will support Nintendo's merchandise marketing across owned social channels, with opportunities to participate in hardware and software campaigns. By laddering into the Expanded Audience pillar, this role will strive to reach consumers beyond our core gamers by showcasing Nintendo as a lifestyle brand. The role will work closely with teams in regions and the Strategic Initiatives group to ensure campaigns are aligned with product initiatives and cross-team opportunities are realized.

Job Details

  • Location: Redmond, WA (hybrid)
  • Salary: USD 120,900 - 217,650 per year
  • Experience: Minimum of six years in communications, public relations, influencer marketing or social media
  • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Engage with content creators to bring Nintendo products and initiatives to life while managing and executing tactics.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team on celebrity marketing to identify opportunities for the celebrity community to engage with Nintendo products and drive affinity with defined target audiences.
  • Manage external partners and agencies involved in short- and long-term initiatives on the earned and paid influencer program.
  • Draft and/or edit materials, including strategic campaign plans and social copy.
  • Manage collection and distribution of relevant game assets.
  • Coordinate content shoots with internal partners and agencies to ensure content is compliant and optimized for social use.
  • Direct content capture and produce content suitable for quick turn publishing.
  • Maintain tight communications with other marketing teams within Nintendo to ensure project understanding and cross-team opportunities are realized.
  • Work in collaboration with counterpart leads/managers in Social Marketing, PR and the celebrity team.
  • As designated, may represent Nintendo as an official corporate spokesperson in on-camera or in-person capacity; training required.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of six years related experience in communications, public relations, influencer marketing or social media
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of best practices within digital marketing and online video
  • Budgets: Experience managing budgets
  • Leadership: Experience managing direct reports required
  • Skills: Strong writing and editing skills
  • Assets: Experience creating still and video assets preferred
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent preferred
