Job Description

In this remote role at Right at School, the Senior Manager of Marketing Operations steers the marketing technology stack, data governance, and campaign operations to drive enrollment, district partnerships, and brand engagement. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this leader guides a small team and stays hands-on, especially during peak enrollment periods, translating strategy into scalable, personalized programs.

Responsibilities

  • Host regular weekly one-on-one meetings with the Marketing Project Manager and the Marketing Operations Specialist to align on priorities.
  • Prioritize initiatives and allocate workload to align with key marketing objectives.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development support for direct reports.
  • Lead quarterly performance reviews and set goals aligned to OKRs.
  • Remove blockers and escalate cross-functional issues to marketing leadership as needed.
  • Engage hands-on in creating, QA'ing, and deploying emails, journeys, and automations in Marketing Cloud alongside the Operations Specialist, particularly during peak enrollment cycles.
  • Govern and optimize the MarTech stack, including Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Cloud, Hive, Miro, Canva, and WordPress.
  • Oversee data flows and integrations between CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and enrollment platforms.
  • Audit and maintain data quality standards in Salesforce, covering contacts, attribution, and segmentation.
  • Monitor Marketing Cloud journey performance and email deliverability health.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools or integrations to improve team efficiency and campaign effectiveness.
  • Leverage AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to scale output, accelerating reporting, QA, content drafting, and documentation.
  • Partner with marketing leadership to convert campaign strategies into operational execution plans and help design AI-forward, automation-driven programs that are efficient, scalable, and personalized with dynamic content.
  • Build and oversee campaign setup in Marketing Cloud, including Journeys, Data Extensions, and Automation Studio.
  • Ensure proper UTM tagging, tracking, and attribution for all digital campaigns.
  • Review and approve email deployments, landing pages, and campaign launches before go-live.
  • Monitor campaign performance post-launch and brief the team on optimization opportunities.
  • Oversee weekly and monthly marketing performance reporting across the department.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in Google Analytics and Salesforce to track KPIs and funnel metrics.
  • Translate campaign and business-unit performance data into concise, actionable reports and recommendations to support real-time decision-making by marketing leaders.
  • Serve as the marketing operations liaison to customer operations, digital operations, and product teams.
  • Collaborate with customer operations to align campaigns with seasonal enrollment cycles.
  • Coordinate with new business teams to develop and deploy onboarding marketing materials.
  • Attend key planning and strategy sessions representing marketing operations.
  • Lead a hands-on team of two while remaining actively involved in the work.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud) for campaign management, contact-record governance, reports and dashboards, custom fields, list views, and workflow rules; strong understanding of the data model as it relates to marketing attribution.
  • Hands-on expertise with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions; experience building and QA'ing emails and journeys, managing subscribers/data hygiene, and ensuring deliverability.
  • 2+ years of people leadership in marketing, with the ability to guide a small team while staying hands-on.
  • Player-coach mindset in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, balancing leadership with personal execution.
  • GA4 expertise covering event tracking, conversions, audience building, and custom reporting.
  • GTM proficiency for container management, trigger and tag setup, and debugging with Preview mode.
  • Experience with marketing reporting and dashboards across GA4 and Salesforce.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Hive, ClickUp, or similar) for intake, task management, and timeline tracking.
  • Experience with marketing database segmentation and audience list builds.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) for workflow optimization, content support, analysis, and operational efficiency.
  • Working knowledge of CAN-SPAM, CCPA, TCPA, and email compliance best practices.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, growth marketing, or marketing technology roles.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring marketing team members.
  • Proven ability to manage a multi-platform MarTech stack in a fast-growing organization and connect marketing operations to enrollment or revenue outcomes.
