Job Description

Universal Music Group seeks an experienced Marketing Manager to support FONO in Woodland Hills, onsite. This role focuses on artist brand strategy, direct-to-consumer initiatives, and cross-channel content and advertising to build narratives and deepen fan engagement with the artists.

Responsibilities

  • Develop artist brand strategies that craft narratives and cultivate superfandom.
  • Plan direct-to-consumer tactics aimed at advancing artist growth.
  • Maintain an always-on, fan-facing strategy aligned with the artist’s persona and releases.
  • Produce engaging, clear copy for multiple advertising channels, including websites, social media, and print ads.
  • Apply awareness of music culture to position the artist within cultural conversations and drive narrative alignment.
  • Create and implement brand and narrative guidelines; possess strong knowledge of Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music charts, along with familiarity with Twitch, TikTok, Reddit, SoundCloud, and Discord.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with professional presentation tools (Power Point, Sheets, Keynote, Canva) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, design, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in brand strategy, copywriting, and creative design.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing, ideally within an ad agency.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Exceptional creative and design skills with a portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Excellent communication abilities with the capacity to collaborate across teams and present ideas effectively.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing successful brand strategies and marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining keen attention to detail.
