Job Description

Barkley&Co. is an agile, ex-founders–led agency focused on healthcare and wellness brands, with this role stationed onsite in New York, NY. The Marketing Strategist (Associate) merges strategic thinking with hands-on execution, guiding campaigns across email, social, and influencer channels to foster growth for client brands while turning insights into action.

Responsibilities

  • Manage campaigns across email, social platforms, and influencer collaborations.
  • Maintain content calendars for multiple brands to keep initiatives aligned.
  • Develop email campaigns end-to-end, from copy to design to deployment.
  • Create social content and oversee community engagement.
  • Prepare influencer briefs, conduct outreach, and propose partnerships.
  • Produce performance analyses that translate metrics into actionable insights.
  • Address daily challenges to keep campaigns moving smoothly.
  • Launch three email campaigns for different brands in Klaviyo.
  • Extract social performance data and generate weekly reports.
  • Draft influencer briefs and partnership proposals.
  • Join client calls to present content calendars.
  • Design social assets in Canva and schedule posts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building and deploying email campaigns that contributed to revenue.
  • Experience managing content calendars across multiple channels.
  • Familiarity with influencer collaborations and the creator economy.
  • Ability to write copy, design basic assets, and analyze performance data.
  • Comfort with marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Shopify, GA4, and Meta Ads Manager.
  • Experience presenting to clients and explaining performance in business terms.
  • Focus on profitable growth over vanity metrics.

The Challenge

Our clients are scaling quickly and need a hands-on strategist who can move fast while maintaining strategic clarity. This role requires switching from writing email copy to analyzing campaign performance to crafting influencer briefs in a single day. It is not a purely presentation-focused position; it seeks campaigns that deliver real growth for healthcare and wellness brands. Without this role, senior team members would be tied to execution instead of strategy, and client marketing would lose momentum.

Day-to-Day Impact

Real week snapshot:

  • Monday: Build three email campaigns for different brands in Klaviyo
  • Tuesday: Pull social performance data and create weekly reports
  • Wednesday: Write influencer briefs and partnership proposals
  • Thursday: Join client calls to present content calendars
  • Friday: Design social assets in Canva and schedule posts

90% execution, 10% strategy. This is the role for someone who makes ideas happen.

  • Band: $65,000–$80,000 per year
  • Department: Strategy & Analytics
  • Reports to: Strategy Director / Account Director
  • Growth path: In 12–18 months, progression to Senior Strategist ($80,000–$100,000)
