Job Description

Marketing Specialist in the College of Business and Economics at UW-Whitewater focuses on developing, executing, and measuring multi-channel marketing initiatives to support enrollment, brand awareness, and institutional visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Create, deploy, and distribute marketing materials across multiple channels using appropriate tools.
  • Lead multi-channel campaigns from concept to launch, ensuring branding consistency at every touchpoint.
  • Liaise with vendors, designers, and agency partners to produce and place creative assets on schedule and within budget.
  • Support event marketing and recruitment efforts, including on-campus and off-campus visits, email outreach, high school engagement, and signature college events.
  • Help develop and execute strategic marketing plans based on research and established strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand presence and campaign effectiveness across earned, owned, and paid channels.
  • Assist in planning and running paid media campaigns across digital, programmatic, social, and out-of-home channels.
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and share data and trends relevant to ongoing or upcoming marketing activities.
  • Prepare performance reports and contribute to campaign optimization based on data-driven insights.
  • Track higher education marketing trends to inform evidence-based strategic decisions.
  • Supervise and mentor student marketing staff.
  • Collaborate with campus and college partners including Advising, Admissions, and various departments, centers, and institutes.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum two years of progressively responsible marketing experience with demonstrated results across multiple channels.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content production.
  • Experience using marketing analytics to evaluate performance and guide decision-making.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop content for varied audiences and purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and independence.

Benefits

  • Starting annual salary within a range of $52,000 to $62,000
  • Excellent benefits package

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education marketing, enrollment marketing, or a mission-driven institutional environment
  • Familiarity with paid media platforms (Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, programmatic, Stack Adapt) and campaign management
  • Experience supervising student workers or junior team members
  • Knowledge of brand management principles and integrated marketing planning
  • Experience with project management software (eg, Monday.com) and marketing analytics dashboards
  • Experience with customer relationship management programs (Slate)
  • Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Express, Canva)

  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
