Job Description

Congregation Beth El is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead marketing and communications for the community in Voorhees, NJ (onsite). In this role, you will work under the Executive Director and collaborate with clergy and staff to create clear, engaging materials across email, web, social, print, and signage. The position also supports events and programming, including Shabbat and community-wide holidays.

What you will work on

  • Maintain consistent voice, messaging, visual identity, and branding across all platforms.
  • Manage and improve the systems, workflows, calendars, and intake processes that support day-to-day marketing operations.
  • Develop and manage campaigns across email, print materials, a bimonthly newsletter, website, social media, and building signage.
  • Draft, build, schedule, and proofread weekly and dedicated email campaigns using Constant Contact.
  • Coordinate details across multiple projects while protecting accuracy, tone, and momentum.
  • Organize events, email activity, website updates, and promotional deadlines so key deliverables stay on track.
  • Update and maintain the website, including accurate information, registration links, images, and messaging.
  • Capture content by photographing and recording video of events for internal and promotional use, including social media.
  • Support vendor relationships for design, photography, advertising agencies, and other marketing needs.
  • Maintain organized online files for print materials, graphics, images, and videos.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and Jewish media outlets.
  • Provide staff support, as needed, for Shabbat, community-wide events, and holidays.
  • Follow up with clergy, staff, lay leaders, and volunteers to gather missing details and keep projects moving.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing or communications management role.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Constant Contact, and Canva.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with InDesign as a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management ability, balancing long-term goals with deadline-driven deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and engage diverse constituencies within an organization.
  • Proven experience building integrated marketing strategies and multi-platform communications campaigns.
  • Experience producing print and digital collateral (newsletters, brochures, one-pagers, and more).
  • Self-starting mindset, with the ability to remain calm, adaptable, and resourceful under pressure.
  • Availability to work evenings or weekends as programs are scheduled.
  • Willingness to adjust hours based on seasonal needs, including during the High Holy Days and occasional staffing Shabbat services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and make independent decisions.
  • Understanding of and/or experience working in the Jewish community is desirable.

Compensation & benefits

$50,000 - $55,000 per year.
