The Director of Sales and Marketing at Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette leads the hotel's sales and marketing initiatives to maximize occupancy, average daily rate, and overall revenue, working closely with the General Manager and Front Desk team.

Overview

Shreem Pere Historic, LLC dba Peoria Marriott is seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to oversee all sales and marketing efforts at the Marriott Pere Marquette Hotel, Peoria, IL. The role is responsible for achieving optimal occupancy and ADR growth to maximize total revenue while meeting or exceeding profit objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all group transient and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue.
  • Develop, implement and manage the division's annual budget and the advertising, public relations, marketing and sales plans and programs for the hotel to maximize rate occupancy and food & beverage opportunities, ensuring revenue and profit goals are met or exceeded.
  • Proactively conduct outside sales calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients.
  • Understand the content reflected in contracts and how to negotiate terms therein.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
  • Comply with all Franchise programs and policies.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel including Sales, Food and Beverage, Front Office and Reservations.
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations.
  • Attend and/or conduct daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management providing training on a rotational basis.
  • Act as directed on behalf of the General Manager in his/her absence; performing any other duties as requested by management.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve company objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of sales and marketing professionals.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential clients.
  • Oversee the sales process from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of sales and marketing efforts.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Set sales targets and track performance against goals.
  • Provide regular reports on sales and marketing activities to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Front of House hotel experience.
  • Marriott Certification a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell and influence managerial personnel, hotel guests and corporate clients.
  • Thorough experience with professional selling skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organization and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and work with all hotel staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales, marketing and hospitality profession.
  • Ability to perform well in stressful high pressure situations; maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Capable of working with and understanding financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
