Job Description

Develops, produces, and coordinates multimedia content to support Houston Community College's communication, marketing, engagement, and brand initiatives across multiple platforms, combining storytelling, production, content management, and audience engagement to enhance visibility and connection with internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish compelling multimedia content across channels, including copy, graphics, photography, video, and other digital assets.
  • Strategize and implement content programs aligned with institutional goals, marketing campaigns, community engagement, and audience communication objectives.
  • Capture and produce photo and video content for events and initiatives using appropriate production techniques and equipment.
  • Handle multimedia production tasks such as scripting, interviewing, recording, editing, and post-production for digital distribution.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar, publishing timetable, and workflows to ensure timely, consistent messaging.
  • Write and refine content for diverse audiences and platforms, ensuring clarity, accuracy, accessibility, and brand alignment.
  • Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to identify content opportunities and craft storytelling approaches.
  • Organize and maintain digital content libraries and multimedia assets to ensure proper storage, accessibility, and use.
  • Track audience engagement, digital trends, and performance metrics to drive ongoing improvements in communications.
  • Assist social media efforts by shaping content strategies, scheduling posts, engaging followers, and applying best practices.
  • Support graphic design, digital layouts, motion graphics, and other creative assets as required.
  • Ensure compliance with copyright, privacy, accessibility standards, and institutional content guidelines.
  • Assist with special projects, events, campaigns, livestreams, and related communications initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Organizational Communications, or a related field required.
  • 4 years of directly related experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • 3 years of experience creating digital content, video production, social media management, or marketing communications required.
  • Valid Texas Driver License.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media management tools.
  • Experience with social media reporting and analytics.
