Job Description

Based in Portland, OR, Teamsters Council #37 Credit Union is seeking a Business Development and Marketing Specialist to drive membership growth, elevate brand awareness, and promote credit union products through strategic marketing and community engagement. This onsite role blends outreach to local Teamster Locals and community organizations with hands on management of campaigns across digital, print, and social channels, while representing the credit union at events and sponsor activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to grow membership and deepen relationships with existing members.
  • Enhance partnerships with Teamster Locals and community organizations to promote credit union services.
  • Represent the credit union at community events, trade shows, and sponsor activities to increase visibility.
  • Conduct presentations and educational sessions on credit union benefits for potential members and employer groups.
  • Plan, develop, and execute marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Manage the credit union’s website and social media presence to ensure consistent branding and engagement.
  • Create promotional materials, newsletters, and member communications that align with brand standards.
  • Analyze marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
  • Support rebranding initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in all marketing efforts.
  • Develop programs to enhance member experience and loyalty.
  • Coordinate special promotions, contests, and events to drive participation and awareness.
  • Gather member feedback and collaborate with internal teams to improve services.
  • Backup support for front-line staff lunch breaks on an ongoing basis, requiring availability from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm daily.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects across platforms, systems, and marketing channels with strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, marketing tools, reporting, and basic analytical and math skills.
  • Strong skills in visual storytelling, social media fluency, and trend spotting.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changes in strategy, processes, products, branding, and workflows.
  • Ability to travel as needed between branches, community events, partner locations, and off-site meetings.
  • Proven ability to professionally represent and promote the Credit Union’s brand, values, and reputation.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across in-person, digital, and presentation settings.
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Compensation

Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
