Principal Account-Based Marketing Manager
Job Description
Onsite principal ABM leadership role in New York, NY, with a salary range of USD 142,000 - 211,200 per year to drive AWS ABM for Global Private Equity.
Responsibilities
- PE Firm level ABM strategy: design and execute targeted ABM plans for Tier 0 and Tier 1 PE firms (examples include Blackstone, KKR, Francisco Partners, Permira, Thoma Bravo), tailoring messaging for Operating Partners, Investment Partners, and Deal Teams based on investment theses and portfolio focus areas.
- Portfolio company demand generation: develop campaigns to accelerate AWS adoption across PE-backed PortCos, emphasizing Greenfield PortCos, first-100-day post-acquisition engagement, and industry-specific value creation in FSI, Healthcare/Life Sciences, ISV, Retail, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, and Education.
- GenAI and strategic playbook marketing: create motions aligned to the PE BD team playbooks, covering GenAI/Agentic AI adoption, VMware migration, carve-outs, database modernization, and Technical Due Diligence support; produce content and campaigns that move portfolio companies from awareness to active adoption.
- Executive engagement programs: plan and run high-touch executive engagements including PE-specific Executive Briefing Centers, CxO roundtables, 1:many PortCo events hosted by PE firms, re:Invent programming (PE Executive Summit), PE Thrive forums, and Women's PE Thrive events; build relationships with PE Operating Partners and Investment Partners to unlock portfolio-wide influence.
- Content and thought leadership development: create PE-specific content such as personalized eBooks, case studies (examples include KKR/Omnissa VMware migration, Blackstone/HealthEdge GenAI), industry insights for Investment Partners, and digital content for multi-channel distribution across email, LinkedIn, content hubs, and events; craft messaging for both firm-level investors and PortCo technology leads.
- Cross-functional collaboration: partner closely with PE BD Managers, firm-aligned Solutions Architects, Specialists, field sales teams, and global marketing peers across EMEA and APJC to ensure ABM motions align with BD priorities and the four-tier PE coverage model; coordinate with field marketing, global campaigns, Partner marketing, and the PEP program for cohesive market presence.
- Measurement and performance optimization: define and track ABM metrics such as pipeline influenced, PE firm engagement scores, PortCo conversion rates, Greenfield-to-Engaged conversion, PPA influence, and revenue attribution; build dashboards and share results with PE BD leadership and senior marketing leadership; continuously optimize programs based on performance data and field feedback, and implement a structured lead-tracking framework across the lead lifecycle.
- Scalable playbook and center of excellence: leverage repeatable ABM frameworks, templates, and engagement playbooks to scale globally as the PE marketing function matures; document best practices and contribute to the AWS ABM Center of Excellence; evangelize ABM best practices across the PE BD organization and demonstrate marketing-led growth for complex ecosystem selling.
Requirements
- 9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Proficiency with Excel or Tableau for data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables
