Job Description
The Marketing & Community Relations Specialist supports local marketing, communications, and outreach for Marshall Health Network's Rivers Health initiative, coordinating community relations, social media and website content, internal communications, and promotional activities to strengthen visibility and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Execute local marketing, communications, and community outreach in line with MHN brand standards, marketing strategies, and organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with MHN Marketing and Rivers Health leadership to design and deploy advertising, promotional campaigns, and outreach across print, digital, social, broadcast, and on-site channels.
- Plan and support community-facing events such as health fairs, open houses, speaking engagements, employee programs, and outreach activities to raise community awareness.
- Represent Rivers Health at local events and partnerships, forging relationships with hospitals, local organizations, businesses, civic groups, and community agencies.
- Coordinate hospital participation in community presentations and educational opportunities, including recruiting and scheduling speakers and staff participants.
- Assist in developing communication materials such as media statements, presentations, town hall content, press releases, and internal communications to support leadership.
- Support updates to the Rivers Health website, social media content, and digital engagement efforts.
- Oversee production and distribution of marketing collateral, signage, digital content, advertisements, and promotional materials with creative teams, media partners, and agencies.
- Assist with photography and visual content collection for use in publications, social posts, news releases, and campaigns.
- Support charitable initiatives, sponsorships, donation requests, and related promotional activities.
- Maintain organized project workflows and provide regular updates on marketing and outreach initiatives to hospital leadership.
- Attend departmental meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives while adhering to policies and brand standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.
- One to two years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with physicians, staff, community partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities, including experience crafting reports, presentations, promotional materials, and outreach communications.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and executing initiatives with attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating events, community engagement activities, and marketing initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, digital collaboration tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an integrated marketing and communications team.
