Job Description

An on-site Field Marketing Specialist role with Sodexo supports Alfred University’s campus dining program, focusing on student engagement, growth, and active campus partnerships through data-driven marketing and events. Located in Alfred, NY, this position blends hands-on promotion with insights-driven planning to elevate the student dining experience. The role offers a salary range of $48,875 to $63,250 per year and requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute growth initiatives across non-mandatory sales, pricing, retail dining, catering, new sales, retention, and campus-wide promotions.
  • Oversee eCommerce efforts and shared promotional programs to support revenue expansion.
  • Establish and manage customer insight programs, including surveys, focus groups, digital engagement, and technology-based tools to improve satisfaction and understand student needs.
  • Develop and manage internal and external communications channels such as websites, social media, marketing campaigns, knowledge sharing, and best-practice storytelling.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with campus stakeholders, student groups, dining leadership, and community partners to drive engagement and support joint initiatives.
  • Maintain a regular on-site presence to enhance brand visibility, promote programs, and serve as the campus dining marketing representative.
  • Plan and execute engagement events, sampling activities, themed promotions, and awareness campaigns to enrich the student dining experience.
  • Analyze participation trends and market data to recommend strategies that support growth, retention, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing, communications, hospitality marketing, or student engagement roles.
  • Strong creative skills with the ability to design compelling promotions, events, and campaigns.
  • Excellent communication abilities across digital, written, and in-person formats.
  • Familiarity with social media strategy, web content, and brand storytelling.
  • Ability to gather and analyze customer insights to inform marketing decisions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students, clients, and operational teams.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and maintain a strong on-campus presence.
  • A passion for elevating the student experience and creating dynamic, customer-focused dining marketing programs.
