Job Description

Four Seasons Chicago seeks a strategic Director of Public Relations and Marketing to lead integrated communications, media relations, reputation management, and digital marketing. Based onsite in Chicago, this role will elevate the property's brand and drive measurable commercial impact across markets and guest segments.

Compensation

Salary: USD 125,000 - 135,000 per year. Location: Chicago, IL (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Create and steer the yearly PR and marketing roadmap and supporting channel plans to align with revenue goals and property priorities.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the integrated marketing and communications calendar, including campaign programs, global brand initiatives, on‑property activations, and F&B promotions.
  • Assess seasonal trends, key moments, priority feeder markets, and target audiences to inform annual marketing and campaign planning.
  • Leverage market intelligence, consumer trends, guest insights, and competitive analysis to guide positioning and data‑driven decision making.
  • Adapt strategies in response to evolving market conditions.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with tier-one local, regional, and international media through proactive pitches, press trips, immersive experiences, in‑market events, and ongoing engagement.
  • Keep the Press Room current with media materials and property assets aligned to strategic narratives and brand standards.
  • Direct local PR agency efforts by defining scopes, expectations, and success measures to ensure deliverables support property priorities.
  • Design and implement an annual awards strategy aligned with brand priorities, managing submissions across hospitality, travel, lifestyle, culinary, wellness, and sustainability awards.
  • Lead integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels to maximize reach, conversions, and aspiration, ensuring cohesive execution and brand guideline adherence.
  • Define and activate the property’s distinctive positioning through storytelling and creative expression in collaboration with Global and Regional teams.
  • Manage production and coordination of property photo and video shoots to support brand storytelling, ongoing content needs, and campaign priorities; maintain the image and video library and usage rights.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and activate strategic brand collaborations with sound judgment and commercial acumen to ensure alignment with positioning, guest experience, and measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in public relations and marketing, including leadership responsibilities; luxury hospitality or related industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communications skills with a strong sense of quality and a creative mindset.
  • Extensive leadership experience in both PR and marketing disciplines, ideally within luxury hospitality and/or luxury goods/services.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated content strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels to deliver measurable outcomes and optimize ROI.
  • Experience overseeing paid media and SEO strategies, interpreting performance dashboards, and partnering with agencies to optimize initiatives.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to translate ideas into innovative campaigns that deliver measurable results.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making under pressure.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage complex projects.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
