Job Description

Supports day-to-day development and marketing operations at San Jacinto Christian Academy (SJCA) onsite in Amarillo, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings as directed.
  • Assist donor stewardship by drafting thank you letters, providing receipts, preparing quarterly newsletters, and sharing impact updates.
  • Maintain donor records and accurately track pledges, matching gift details, and sponsorship benefits.
  • Help assemble donor packets, one-pagers, and straightforward proposals.
  • Create and format flyers, handouts, and digital graphics with Canva; prepare documents in Microsoft Word; edit and compile PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.
  • Schedule social media posts, perform basic content creation, and monitor engagement under guidance of the Director of Development and Marketing.
  • Organize photo and video assets to ensure easy retrieval and branding consistency.
  • Support development events such as the Patriot Annual Fund, Patriot Preview Night, golf tournament, alumni events, and donor coffees; manage checklists, name tags, programs, signage, room setup, guest greeting, and post-event follow-up.
  • Maintain calendars, task lists, and production timelines for development and marketing initiatives.
  • Proofread materials to ensure accuracy, appropriate tone, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Prepare mailing lists, export data, and generate basic reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard donor, family, and school records per SJCA policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Development and Marketing or the Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Experience and training levels as required by the Board of Trustees.
  • Supports and endorses SJCA policies and its Christian Philosophy of Education.
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute with accuracy.
  • Knowledge of school-wide organization, operations, and administrative policies.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of office procedures, practices, and common office equipment.

Terms of Employment

Pay is established annually and is USD 14 per hour. Pay decisions consider budget, performance, and other factors, with Board approval.

Evaluation

Performance is evaluated by the Director of Development and Marketing in accordance with this job description. Administrative evaluations and recommendations are presented to the Board annually.
