Avineon is seeking a versatile Marketing Specialist to support GIS and technical marketing, business development, and proposals from a remote location. The role blends visual storytelling with digital marketing and conference collateral, translating geospatial capabilities into clear messaging for proposals and pursuit materials. The ideal candidate will collaborate with GIS professionals and the sales team to create compelling graphics, optimize content for discovery, and help shape win themes.
Responsibilities
- Gain a practical understanding of GIS concepts and Esri tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related technologies) to translate technical capabilities into accessible marketing and proposal content.
- Collaborate with technical and GIS staff to gather content, visuals, and maps for marketing materials.
- Partner with the business development team to create visually engaging graphics, layouts, and design elements for proposals, capability statements, and pursuit materials.
- Assist in structuring proposal content to improve readability, persuasiveness, and win themes.
- Maintain brand consistency and professional polish across all submitted materials.
- Grow and manage the company's presence on professional networks, with a primary focus on LinkedIn.
- Develop and execute content calendars, posts, and campaigns tailored to cross‑platform best practices.
- Track engagement metrics and adjust strategy to improve reach and audience growth.
- Prepare marketing collateral for conferences, trade shows, and industry events, including banners, handouts, presentation materials, and digital assets.
- Coordinate logistics and timelines for collateral production ahead of events.
- Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of industry peers, including brand positioning, messaging, and marketing tactics, and synthesize findings for leadership and business development teams.
- Apply SEO best practices to website content, blog posts, and digital marketing materials.
- Monitor keyword performance and search rankings, recommending optimization strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, GIS/Geography, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Two to five years of marketing experience, ideally within a technical, engineering, AEC, or government contracting environment.
- Familiarity with GIS concepts and exposure to Esri products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) is highly preferred.
- Strong graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing professional social media platforms, with emphasis on LinkedIn.
- Working knowledge of SEO principles and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, particularly around proposal submissions and event timelines.
