Job Description

Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals, a leading health system based in Philadelphia, is seeking a Marketing Professional, Specialist focused on Change Management Communications to join onsite. This role specializes in a defined practice within marketing and communications, supporting the department's shared services function and directing the day-to-day execution of a defined workstream such as creative services, social media, digital marketing, internal communications, content creation, public relations, or marketing operations. The position offers opportunities to deepen expertise and contribute to key business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Operates independently within a defined specialization, selecting appropriate methods and tools and explaining the rationale behind choices; anticipates pitfalls and mitigates them; maintains quality under shifting timelines and constraints; stays current with platform updates and industry changes, applying new best practices while upholding compliance and standards; collaborates with adjacent specialists to elevate the craft.
  • Manages projects proactively and coordinates inputs across functions to keep work moving smoothly; leads efficient working sessions with clear agendas, decisions, and action items; follows up to close loops; identifies interdependencies and negotiates small scope, timing, or priority trade-offs to unblock progress; creates lightweight assets such as plans, RACI and calendars to maintain alignment; surfaces risks early with recommendations.
  • Crafts compelling narratives tailored to audience, project, journey stage, and channel constraints; ensures message consistency across assets and touchpoints within the workstream; uses engagement data and qualitative feedback to refine outputs; adapts storytelling techniques for different mediums without losing impact.
  • Develops ideas and concepts grounded in insight and objectives; explores new formats, tools, and workflows that improve engagement or efficiency while preserving standards; partners with creative, media, and other channel owners to prototype quickly and bring ideas to life; uses light testing to de-risk bold ideas and retire weaker ones early; fosters a culture of sharing inspiration.
  • Optimizes channel performance by tuning timing, targeting, formats, SEO elements, UX friction points, and budgets; conducts small tests, tracks results, and documents learnings; coordinates with adjacent channels to ensure cohesive journeys and reduce audience fatigue; partners with analytics to move beyond vanity metrics and drive meaningful improvements; builds lightweight guides for recurring scenarios.
  • Manages a defined budget with forecasting and variance monitoring; compares vendor quotes to ensure value; identifies opportunities for small savings without compromising outcomes; provides timely planned versus actual updates and early risk warnings; designs scopes that match needs and avoids unnecessary features; develops simple calculators or tools to support budgeting where appropriate.
  • Defines KPIs and targets for channels or campaigns, building dashboards that stakeholders can trust; analyzes performance to identify drivers and opportunities; recommends data-backed optimizations and follows through to realize impact; balances quick wins with learning agendas that build long-term advantage; partners with analytics to understand attribution and avoid misleading vanity metrics; communicates performance clearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Writing, Digital Marketing, Business, Project Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a marketing communications department, advertising or communications agency, or related setting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Proficiency with specialized software used in the focus area (e.g., social publishing platforms, design/editing tools, CMS, CRM, DAM systems).
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and dashboards (channel analytics, web analytics, campaign reports).
  • Ability to use project management systems to track tasks, timelines, and workflows.
  • Proficiency with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for content generation, research, or workflow automation.
  • Ability to work effectively on independent assignments as well as team-based projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, concurrent objectives, projects, schedules, or activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Coursework, knowledge, or experience with enterprise business sectors such as health, higher education, or insurance is helpful but not required.

Physical Demands
