Marketing & Events Specialist
Job Description
ServiceIQ is seeking a Tampa-based Marketing & Events Specialist to own the app marketing strategy from planning through execution and to run the company events program. The role is designed for a local presence due to in-person trade show and association attendance, and it operates as a build-it, team-of-one position supported by the leadership team.
Role Purpose
You will take end-to-end ownership of marketing for the app, building the strategies and campaigns that drive awareness and demand. You will also represent the company at industry events where general contractors gather, converting conversations into organized follow-up for the team.
Responsibilities
- Own the full marketing strategy for the app, from planning through execution, across channels that align with an audience of general contractors.
- Build and run campaigns that support awareness, demand, and lead generation for the product.
- Create and schedule marketing content, including social posts, email, web copy, and campaign assets.
- Manage and grow the social media presence and ensure consistent brand messaging across touchpoints.
- Use AI tools to develop marketing plans and produce content quickly, then apply personal judgment to refine quality.
- Track performance metrics, analyze results, and adjust campaigns to improve marketing effectiveness over time.
- Own the events program from planning through follow-up, including industry trade shows and related appearances.
- Represent ServiceIQ with industry associations, including ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) and AGC (Associated General Contractors).
- Support on-site event logistics including booth setup, materials, travel planning, schedules, and lead capture.
- Work the event floor by starting conversations, connecting with the right people, and building rapport with prospects.
- Organize event connections into follow-up for the team.
- Learn the product thoroughly enough to speak confidently and explain why contractors should care.
- Maintain accurate, aligned marketing and event messaging that reflects how the product works.
Requirements
- Strong self-starter mindset with the ability to run the program independently and solve problems without step-by-step direction.
- Comfort working with AI tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) for marketing planning, content creation, and efficiency, as this is central to the role.
- Personable and confident in person, including the ability to initiate conversations with strangers and build rapport quickly at events.
- Ability to learn a product and communicate clearly to a business audience.
- Willingness and ability to travel for events, mostly in Central Florida with occasional larger national shows.
- Comfort operating on a fully remote team while maintaining organization and personal accountability.
- Preferred degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Bonus experience or interest including HubSpot, social media management tools, email marketing, or content creation, with any exposure from internships, school projects, or side work counting toward fit, plus an interest in SaaS, construction, or the field service industry.
