Job Description

The Marketing Coordinator role at M. A. Mortenson Company centers on coordinating proposals, presentations, and events while supporting the operating group's marketing and communications efforts. This onsite position in Minneapolis, MN requires a detail-oriented communicator who can manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment and collaborate across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with assembling proposal materials by gathering, validating, and formatting information.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of proposals, including technical scope, project experience, resumes, and other marketing content.
  • Maintain marketing files, systems (Salesforce, proposal archives), and related supplies.
  • Plan and coordinate activities for trade shows, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Support special events planning and coordination, including groundbreaking ceremonies, topping-off events, and ribbon cuttings.
  • Collect and refresh project profiles for content development.
  • Help marketing specialists create and edit materials, including newsletters, presentations, brochures, news releases, social media posts, and internal communications.
  • Maintain a library of professional photos of Mortenson team members.
  • Assist with organizing the operating group's annual meeting and other event logistics.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Demonstrate a detail-oriented approach and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborate as a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Exhibit strong writing and editing capabilities.
  • Possess a basic understanding of social media.
  • Display excellent creativity, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask with flexibility.
  • Show good graphic sensitivity and judgment for marketing visuals.
  • Practice active listening and clear communication, with openness to diverse input and feedback.

Requirements

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, or sales enablement roles is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with layout tools and desktop publishing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Compensation

Hourly rate: USD 28 - 38
