Job Description

The Austin Community Food Co-op, a newly formed member-owned initiative, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to shape its visual identity across platforms and engage a growing network of residents, donors, volunteers, and partners. Based in Chicago, IL with a hybrid work setup, this role combines remote coordination with on-site collaboration to promote fundraising efforts and create compelling online experiences that support revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and elevate the co-op's visual identity across platforms and community touchpoints.
  • Support the promotion of fundraising events and outreach marketing initiatives.
  • Manage the day-to-day communications and marketing activities of the co-op.
  • Craft a meaningful online experience for Austin residents, the co-op community, donors, volunteers, and partners to drive annual revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the Community Relations Coordinator and the Visual Design Consultant to form the ACFC 2026 Team, with updates presented at the monthly board meeting.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with high energy and familiarity with the Austin community.
  • Access to reliable transportation is essential for community engagement and event support.
  • Hybrid work arrangement including remote work, a coworking space, and on-site field duties as needed.
  • Access to standard office equipment such as computers, telephone, printer/copier, scanner, and file storage.
  • Interest in growing with the initiative, with adaptability and strong organizational skills to work with a virtual, expanding team.
