Email Marketing Specialist
Job Description
Ave Maria Press is seeking an Email Marketing Specialist to lead data driven campaigns that grow audiences, boost engagement, and drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute data driven email programs that support customer acquisition, sales growth, and revenue targets.
- Maintain and schedule the email calendar to ensure steady communication across audiences, aligned with promos, liturgical cycles, product launches, textbook communications, seasonal offers, newsletters, and liturgical content.
- Grow and segment subscriber lists, expand reach to consumers, parishes, schools, and bookstores, and convert new audiences.
- Build and optimize automated journeys such as welcome series, re engagement, post purchase, and cart abandonment to lift average order value and purchase frequency.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns ( discounts, bundles, pre orders, limited time offers ) and measure ROI to guide future efforts.
- Write compelling, brand aligned copy and design high performing emails using the organization ESP (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Constant Contact) with dynamic content and personalization.
- Build and test emails within the ESP, leveraging dynamic content blocks and personalization as needed.
- Apply A/B testing and analytics to optimize subject lines, content, layout, and send times for better open rates, click through rates, conversions, and revenue per email.
- Monitor campaign performance and maintain reporting dashboards with actionable insights to meet or exceed KPIs.
- Collect, track, and analyze key email metrics; generate regular reports with insights to optimize engagement, deliverability, and conversions.
- Ensure compliance with CAN SPAM and GDPR and maintain list hygiene by managing opt in preferences and pruning inactive contacts.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Brand Manager and eCommerce Manager to set campaign priorities and ensure coordinated messaging.
- Attend staff, product acquisition, and launch meetings to stay aligned with cross functional initiatives and publishing schedules.
- Participate in occasional travel for conferences, events, or team collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in email or digital marketing.
- Proficiency with email service providers such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Constant Contact; Klaviyo experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of email marketing strategies, metrics, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with promotional strategies and ecommerce marketing.
- Experience with segmentation, automation, and list building to optimize revenue outcomes.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills plus ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Position details
- Full time salaried role
- 37.5 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday
- Location: Notre Dame, Indiana, onsite
- Relocation before starting work required
- Salary: $43,500.63 – $52,387.86 per year
- Includes 403(b) retirement plan and comprehensive benefits
- Work authorization: must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship
