Director of Public Relations and Marketing
Job Description
Four Seasons Fort Lauderdale offers an on site leadership role in Public Relations and Marketing. In this position you will develop and execute an integrated PR, digital media, social media, and marketing communications plan that supports business objectives. As the department head and brand ambassador for the property, you will shape the narrative and represent the Four Seasons standard across the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Develop a year round integrated Public Relations and Communications Plan across all hotel pillars with distinctive tactics across PR and communications channels.
- Monitor Hotel Marketing Scorecard metrics as they relate to PR and Communications and implement tactics to improve rankings.
- Collaborate with all hotel departments and outlets to identify and develop new storylines.
- Publish press releases monthly to highlight news and maintain active engagement on the Four Seasons Press Room.
- Lead creation of Story Starters and ensure bios are present to drive engagement with the resort on the Four Seasons Press Room.
- Maintain the image library to ensure the property is best represented across materials.
- Identify target publications, manage media communications, build new connections, coordinate media visits and interviews to sustain coverage.
- Pitch and secure coverage through the brand agency all call editorial opportunities as well as B2B communications opportunities.
- Anticipate peak and off peak periods and mobilize teams to create unique guest programming.
- Develop thoughtful series of hotel, culinary, and destination experiences that support positioning, including potential brand collaborations.
- Identify and execute local event participation and activations that engage surrounding communities.
- Apply PR strategies within the Restaurant & Bar Toolkit to maximize exposure for restaurant and bar outlets.
- Lead and manage departmental PR and marketing meetings with minutes and action items.
- Represent the Public Relations and Communications team in hotel meetings and operations.
- Share PR and Communications highlights monthly to quarterly with the resort team.
- Engage with local and regional PR committees and associations.
- Collaborate with local visitor bureaus and tourism boards for potential partnerships and awareness opportunities.
- Track PR activities, generate reports, and create highlight presentations.
- Benchmark against key competitors locally, nationally, and internationally to identify opportunities to improve PR positioning in luxury space.
- Ensure consistent visual identity across the hotel and outlets.
- Lead and coordinate the creation of resort promotional items, newsletters, and seasonal brochures.
- Co manage the production and coordination of photo and video shoots.
- Support Sales, Catering, and Reservations by auditing sales materials to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and resort positioning.
- Direct the Digital Marketing Manager on social media and website content strategies based on the PR and Integrated Communications plan and initiatives.
- Co-manage and support the resort's digital communications strategy to support PR and Communications plans.
- Develop a solid understanding of the resort's business mix, consumer profiles, and insights.
- In partnership with direct reports, respond according to the crisis management plan to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Regional Director of Public Relations.
- Comply with Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing while collaborating professionally with colleagues and planning committees.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Four Seasons and the hotel.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of management experience in public relations, communications, digital marketing, or related industries, preferably in lifestyle and hospitality.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communications skills with a strong sense of quality and a creative mindset.
- Keen eye for aesthetics.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Media relations experience.
- Knowledge of mobile, emerging, and media applications.
- Knowledge of InDesign and production methods in graphic arts and collateral.
- Ability to multitask effectively and manage multiple projects with deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to manage third party agencies, partners, and vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
