Job Description

St. Thomas of Villanova, a parish community in Palatine, Illinois, seeks a communications and marketing coordinator to shape the parish’s voice across print and digital channels. This onsite role is centered on developing and executing a strategic plan that supports the Catholic community while growing parish communications through weekly publications and online platforms. The position offers a salary range of USD 36,400 to 54,600 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or a related field, with a minimum of one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement a cohesive vision and branding for the parish
  • Manage and produce the parish weekly communications: Bulletin, eNewsletter, Website announcements, and Social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
  • Serve as the parish Webmaster with the goal of developing a new website; act as Social Media coordinator; fulfill Email Marketing responsibilities
  • Assist in creating flyers, social media content, and other media for staff and ministries upon request
  • Contribute to visioning, branding, and the execution of campaigns
  • Support the Pastoral Team with graphic design tasks (prayer cards, flyers, annual report, postcards, posters, letterheads)
  • Help with Parish events by capturing photos or video
  • Take on additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding, respect, and support for the Catholic Church and St. Thomas of Villanova’s mission and values
  • Strategic and creative thinker with strong writing, editing, and design abilities; highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines; proficient across computer tools
  • Canva
  • Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • WordPress
  • Weebly
  • Flocknote or similar email marketing tool
  • Social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • CRM systems
  • Awareness of best practices for search queries on various platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or a related field
  • Bilingual in English and Polish is favored
  • Digital Marketing experience (1 year preferred)
  • Marketing experience (2 years preferred)
  • Nonprofit, education, or faith-based experience preferred
