Job Description

The Midwest Insurance Group seeks an experienced Commercial Lines Marketing and Placement Specialist to coordinate the placement of new and renewal commercial policies from an onsite location in Delafield, Wisconsin. This role acts as the primary liaison between producers and insurance carriers, supporting coverage negotiations, preparing proposals, and overseeing the placement and binding workflow to ensure accurate and timely execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and placement of commercial insurance programs for clients as directed by agency leadership
  • Collect and evaluate information from internal and external sources to prepare comprehensive market submissions
  • Process applications and create new client records within the agency management system
  • Pre qualify accounts with carrier partners based on underwriting appetite, coverage requirements, and market fit
  • Submit applications to carriers via email and online rating platforms
  • Offer technical insurance guidance and market insights to producers to support client needs and agency growth
  • Facilitate communication among underwriters, producers, and clients to resolve underwriting questions and obtain missing information
  • Track submission activity and proactively follow up with carriers to obtain quotes and competitive pricing
  • Review quotes for accuracy and alignment with submitted information
  • Analyze and compare multiple carrier proposals to identify coverage differences, gaps, and overall client value
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with carriers to secure favorable outcomes for clients and prospects
  • Coordinate the binding of coverage and complete all placement documentation
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with clients, carriers, producers, and internal staff via verbal and written updates
  • Update client records in the agency management system after binding and transition accounts to the account management team for ongoing service
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workflow to meet deadlines and service expectations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client information, communications, and marketing activity within agency systems
  • Support producers with prospect and client service tasks as requested
  • Collaborate closely with account management to ensure seamless handoffs of new business and coordination of remarketing for existing accounts
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in commercial lines insurance within an agency or carrier environment
  • Strong knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with standard office software
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Wisconsin Property & Casualty License required

Compensation

Salary: USD 55,000 - 70,000 per year
