Marketing Associate (Path to Licensed Agent)

FBL-Financial is hiring a Marketing Associate (Path to Licensed Agent) to help fuel agency growth from the first conversation forward. Based in Spring Valley, MN and working onsite, this role functions as the initial point of contact for potential clients while building momentum for the sales team. The position also includes mentorship and hands-on support designed to help you move toward becoming a fully licensed Insurance Producer.

Role Overview

In this marketing-focused position, you will connect with businesses and individuals, introduce insurance solutions, and qualify leads through structured conversations. You will also maintain accurate performance records and transition qualified prospects to Sales Associates so the team can convert interest into outcomes. A key part of the opportunity is the ongoing guidance provided as you work through the steps toward professional licensing.

Responsibilities

• Call businesses and individuals daily to introduce FBL-Financial’s insurance solutions.
• Use engaging scripts and personal flair to generate interest and secure high-value sales appointments.
• Ask thoughtful questions to collect critical risk and insurance information from prospects.
• Maintain meticulous records of results and hand off qualified leads to Sales Associates.
• Refine your approach over time by adjusting scripts to align with the needs of each person you speak with.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A four-year college degree is a nice bonus.
• Customer service or retail sales experience is highly preferred.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Basic PC and math skills.
• Ability to solve problems on the fly.
• Positive attitude and desire to hit goals.
• Genuine eagerness to learn the insurance industry.
• Ability to work a structured schedule, including occasional non-standard hours to reach clients when they are available.

Compensation

• USD 36,000 - 70,000 per year.
