Brand Marketing Partner
Job Description
thatgamecompany is seeking a Brand Marketing Partner to steer how our games reach, resonate with, and grow audiences. This role leads social strategy, creator partnerships, campaigns, and community growth across our published titles, combining creative storytelling with data-driven growth. Located in Los Angeles, CA (remote), the position offers a salary range of USD 78,500 to 145,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Craft and implement growth-oriented social and brand plans that reflect each game's distinctive identity
- Design and launch digital and physical campaigns that achieve broad organic reach and engagement
- Lead end-to-end influencer and creator programs, from scouting to outreach, production, launch, and performance tracking
- Develop and nurture communities on Discord, Steam, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms, turning engagement into meaningful growth
- Create content that travels across reactive posts, cultural moments, short-form video, and key campaign tentpoles
- Build systems, playbooks, calendars, and metrics that make virality repeatable and learnable
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Content, Production, and partner studios to craft narratives that expand our games' presence
- Listen closely to players and creators, surfacing insights that shape communication strategy and product positioning
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial and self-driven, comfortable operating in ambiguity, moving fast, and building from 0 to 1
- Proven track record of building and scaling audience growth at a digital-first company
- Sharp creative instinct paired with analytical discipline; you design campaigns worth sharing and know why they worked
- Deep understanding of platform mechanics, creator culture, and audience behavior on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to adapt voice across brands, audiences, and moments
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to launch with precision and accountability
- Familiarity with gaming communities and their cultures is a strong plus, with genuine curiosity for audiences underrepresented in gaming; the aim is to expand who games are for
- Streaming and on-camera communication skills are a plus
