Marketing Specialist
Job Description
Marketing Specialist based onsite in Nashville, TN, responsible for end-to-end proposal development and pursuit support with knowledge of government contracts including FAR and GSA.
Responsibilities
- Own the proposal lifecycle from planning to delivery, defining timelines, required details, and staffing with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate rehearsal sessions for presentations and actively assist facilitators and coaches.
- Set up and maintain the electronic file structure, access controls, and backup procedures for all proposal materials on the team server and intranet, including SharePoint and CRM.
- Create tailored proposal and presentation content, handling writing, editing, layout design, custom graphics, resume customization, and schedule integration with limited direction from marketing or sales leads.
- Develop final production cycle plans and identify required resources.
- Manage the internal flow and review process for all proposal inputs and outputs.
- Oversee daily vendor operations to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with Community Affairs Manager and Marketing Manager to plan and execute pursuit-specific outreach programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of government contracts, FAR, and GSA guidelines.
- Prepare project award submittals and proactively seek new award opportunities.
- Build and sustain relationships with clients' marketing counterparts, prospective clients, architects, and engineers.
- Monitor media sources for information relevant to targeted pursuits.
- Engage in local media events, civic and professional meetings, client industry trade associations, and community activities to enhance the company's image.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support pursuits and marketing initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field (minimum).
- At least four years of marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and work history.
- Strong computer and IT skills with proficiency in standard office tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, showing initiative and independent thinking.
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on profitability in actions and decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Graphic design skills are desirable.
