Job Description
Blue Shield of California is seeking a Marketing Content Specialist, Consultant - B2B to help shape broker- and employer-facing content for Small Business and Middle Markets. This hybrid role focuses on end-to-end development, translating technical capabilities and regulatory expectations into clear, benefit-driven messaging across traditional and digital channels.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end development of broker-facing and employer-facing content using traditional and digital channels.
- Collaborate with the creative team, marketing team, and subject matter experts to understand member needs and plan benefits.
- Turn technical capabilities and reports into simple, benefit-driven content.
- Maintain and update content across print, digital, and web formats and channels.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate frequently with the Marketing and Sales teams to support timely delivery of marketing materials.
- Apply regulatory and compliance guidance to ensure content meets appropriate reading levels and uses language aligned with state and/or federal requirements.
- Use data and metrics to evolve messaging and improve content effectiveness across copy and design.
- Contribute to cross-functional and project teams building and implementing new marketing strategies, processes, and tools as needed.
- Adapt to and use new technologies and platforms, including AI and project management tools, to create content, track work, and stay aligned with organizational capabilities.
- Provide work and topic updates to the larger Studio and Brand & Demand Marketing team as needed.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of prior relevant experience in marketing communications, content marketing, advertising, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of B2B marketing experience, including digital marketing and close partnership with Sales.
- Experience developing and executing strategic communication and content marketing plans.
- Proven ability to create compelling content for brokers, consultants, and employer groups, translating complex information into clear, value-driven messaging.
- Strong experience working with digital platforms, content management systems (CMS), and emerging marketing technologies.
- Ability to synthesize input from multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts into cohesive marketing narratives, including strong content development, storytelling, editing, and communication skills.
- Healthcare marketing or similar highly regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of advanced marketing principles and tools for marketing analysis and research is strongly preferred.
- Ability to use AI tools and platforms to accelerate content creation while maintaining quality, accuracy, and brand standards.

- This role requires employees to be in-office based on the hybrid workplace model, with most teams coming into the office two days each week.
- Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location (or out of state), and employees in certain member-facing roles, will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.

Salary range: USD 111,540 to 167,420 per year.
