Marketing & Community Engagement Manager
Job Description
The Marketing and Community Engagement Manager at Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK) leads the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan while directing community engagement efforts to expand HONK's impact in Covington, Kentucky.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with HONK's overarching strategic plan.
- Plan and coordinate special events and collaborative opportunities.
- Expand HONK's involvement with a vintage car collection.
- Support annual giving campaigns and fundraising activities.
- Foster cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors, businesses, and foundations.
- Assist in managing the donor management and acknowledgement system.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports on marketing and communications goals.
- Create and implement an annual community engagement plan to grow and retain HONK's client, volunteer, and donor base.
- Maintain relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones.
- Participate in relevant councils, commissions, committees, and community meetings.
- Develop outreach materials (newsletters, brochures, flyers, electronic media, etc.) to effectively convey HONK's mission.
- Develop and schedule presentations; coordinate with staff regarding coverage and responsibilities.
- Cultivate HONK’s social media presence to attract clients, volunteers, and donors.
- Coordinate events including open houses, groundbreaking ceremonies, fundraising activities, donor/partner/volunteer appreciation events, and presentations of new client welcome baskets or gifts.
- Maintain records and provide regular reports on goals within the community engagement plan.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to meet the goals of the strategic plan.
- Contribute to and coordinate efforts with HONK’s Development & Marketing Committee.
- Assist with Candid Seal of Transparency, BBB accreditation, CHDO recertification, and related activities.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support HONK’s mission, while upholding the organization’s ethical standards and representing its faith-based foundation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Excellent written communication, strong visual design sense, and solid presentation skills.
- High level of organization with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with a diverse population.
- Outgoing and engaging personality with confidence to interact face-to-face with individual and corporate donors.
- Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports on marketing and community engagement activities, track progress, and address program deficiencies as they arise.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and experience with social media platforms, email marketing, and website management.
- Experience with nonprofits and event planning is preferred.

Compensation
Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
