Vice President of Marketing
Job Description
Lead a high-performing, in-house marketing organization with a growth mandate across performance marketing and lead generation for personal injury and mass tort case acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Own and scale performance marketing as the department’s top priority, covering paid search, paid social, LSA, and other direct-response lead generation channels in close partnership with the Head of Performance Marketing
- Set and drive the overall lead generation strategy, with performance and digital channels as the primary growth engine
- Build and scale campaign infrastructure that can flex quickly for mass tort and wildfire litigation surges, including sharp lead volume needs around filing deadlines
- Establish reporting and attribution standards that connect marketing spend to lead quality, case value, and cost-per-case across PI and mass tort verticals
- Continuously test, optimize, and scale winning channels while reducing underperforming spend, with an emphasis on aggressive, data-backed growth
- Source, vet, and onboard new affiliates and referral partners to diversify and expand the firm’s case pipeline
- Own and grow relationships with existing affiliate and lead-source partners, including negotiating terms and monitoring lead quality and ROI
- Identify and develop new acquisition channels and partnerships for both personal injury and mass tort, including co-counsel and referral-network relationships where relevant
- Directly manage and develop: Head of Performance Marketing, Creative Director, Social Media Director, CRM Director, Client Services Lead, Data Analyst, and Marketing Specialists
- Have full authority over hiring, firing, and performance management within the marketing department, optimizing team structure and talent to match growth goals
- Set department and individual OKRs, track progress rigorously, and hold the team accountable to measurable, data-driven results
- Build and present budget recommendations and performance forecasts to firm leadership for approval
- Provide structure, accountability, and a consistent cadence of reporting for a department without a single functional leader
- Scale marketing structure and headcount as case volume and channel complexity grow, recommending new roles or hires to firm leadership
- Explore and pilot traditional media (TV, radio, out-of-home) where it demonstrably supports growth
- Partner closely with firm leadership and case-intake leadership on mass tort and wildfire litigation surges to ensure marketing capacity scales with filing deadlines and case volume
- Serve as the day-to-day marketing leader and single point of accountability for lead generation performance and case volume growth, while firm leadership approves final budgets and major spend decisions
Requirements
- 10–15 years of marketing experience, including significant director-level (or higher) experience with a core background in performance marketing and paid digital lead generation
- Legal marketing experience strongly preferred, ideally across both personal injury and mass tort case acquisition
- Mass tort litigation marketing experience is a strong plus, especially around high-volume, time-sensitive filing windows (wildfire, environmental, or product liability litigation)
- Deep hands-on mastery of digital lead generation channels: paid search, paid social, LSA
- Proven experience sourcing, negotiating with, and managing affiliate or third-party lead-source partnerships
- Proven track record managing and developing a multi-disciplinary marketing team (performance, creative, social, CRM, analytics)
- Highly technically proficient and data-driven, comfortable working directly in ad platforms and reporting tools (not limited to dashboard review)
- Track record translating campaign data into budget and strategy decisions
- Experience operating with OKRs or similar goal-setting frameworks and hitting aggressive, measurable targets
- Bias toward scale, including experience growing a marketing function, case pipeline, or lead-gen program during a period of firm/company growth
- Full-funnel growth role experience (e.g., Growth Officer/Head of Growth) spanning marketing and case acquisition is a strong plus
