Senior Director, Product Marketing Pain Management
Job Description
Senior Director, Product Marketing for Pain Management leads strategy, growth, and cross-functional execution across the Pain Management portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall product marketing strategy and portfolio direction for Pain Management, serving as the primary voice for the therapy area across the organization.
- Define and drive the long range vision and growth plan for Pain Management based on clinical practice patterns, patient care pathways, market dynamics, reimbursement, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Own full product lifecycle and portfolio strategy across multiple pain management solutions (cardiac, thoracic, extremity), representing the portfolio in enterprise governance, investment, and prioritization decisions.
- Develop and implement integrated product marketing strategies across the Pain Management portfolio, including value proposition development, positioning, messaging architecture, segmentation, go to market plans, and launches to accelerate adoption and profitability.
- Foster a data driven operating culture by defining key business, market, and performance metrics to inform decisions, prioritize investments, and monitor portfolio health and impact.
- Lead engagement with customers, clinicians, and thought leaders, building partnerships with physicians, advanced practice providers, hospitals, health systems, and KOLs, while contributing to enterprise wide thought leader strategy.
- Shape innovation and future pipeline strategy within Pain Management by identifying unmet clinical needs, emerging technologies, evolving standards of care, and new market opportunities to guide product development and long range planning.
- Collaborate with R&D and cross functional teams to translate voice of customer, market, and clinical insights into differentiated product requirements, evidence plans, and successful product development across the portfolio.
- Ensure regulatory, legal, and compliance alignment in all product marketing, messaging, and portfolio planning activities, reinforcing a strong culture of compliance.
- Work with Sales, Training & Education, Market Access, and International teams to align portfolio strategy, equip the field with compelling value stories and tools, and support global revenue, adoption, and market expansion objectives.
- Lead and develop high performing product marketing teams across multiple products, shaping organizational design, building future leaders, and fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage portfolio level budgets and resourcing plans to efficiently allocate people and capital toward strategic priorities and financial commitments.
- Serve as a senior enterprise leader, influencing without authority, shaping operating models, driving cross functional alignment, and contributing to broader commercial, marketing, and corporate strategy initiatives.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable work performance, thrive in fast paced conditions, exercise sound judgment, prioritize duties, and collaborate effectively with others.
- Maintain regular on site work attendance and accommodate additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or biomedical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 13 years of successful sales/marketing or related experience in medical devices.
- Minimum 10 years of managerial experience.
- Proven ability to analyze a business unit and build support across the broader organization.
- Experience aligning with senior executives and guiding through influence.
- Direct experience with US and international physicians; strong familiarity with Cardiac, Thoracic, and/or Vascular procedures.
- Ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority, particularly R&D.
- Builds and nurtures internal and external relationships.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, effective communicator, and strong moderator/presenter.
- Hands-on, able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Willing to travel up to 50%.
- Location: Minneapolis, MN onsite
- Salary: USD 200,000 - 275,000 per year
