Job Description

Ledgent Technology is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer (Marketing) to design and deliver sophisticated dashboards and automated reporting for the Marketing Analytics organization. This on-site contract role handles end-to-end BI deliverables, from data acquisition to platform integrations, with a path to contract-to-hire through Roth Staffing. The position is available in New York, NY (onsite) or Bethesda, MD, with a compensation range of USD 58 - 91 per hour and a requirement for a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of BI experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create sophisticated dashboards featuring interactive elements while applying visualization best practices to optimize chart choice, usability, and stakeholder clarity.
  • Write and maintain advanced SQL queries and Python automation to support reliable data extraction, transformation, QA checks, and scheduled reporting; manage shared codebases in Git or Azure DevOps, adhering to team standards for commits, reviews, and documentation.
  • Establish automated reporting pipelines and repeatable delivery patterns to minimize manual effort and improve reliability.
  • Source and integrate datasets independently; document data lineage and identify gaps, inconsistencies, or definitional misalignment.
  • Clarify ambiguous requirements by asking targeted questions, proposing visualization approaches, and aligning scope and success criteria with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and enterprise stakeholders to support MarTech data acquisition strategies, tagging/collection requirements, platform integrations, and the usability of marketing datasets for reporting and analytics.
  • Conduct thorough self-QA and milestone reviews to ensure accuracy in filters, calculations, and alignment to definitional standards.
  • Present BI outputs and insights to stakeholders with a clear narrative, detailing assumptions, limitations, and tradeoffs.
  • Provide mentorship to junior BI engineers on tools, best practices, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, accurately scoping timelines and proactively flagging risks.
  • Maintain a growth mindset by seeking feedback, pursuing learning opportunities, and continuously improving BI craftsmanship across accuracy, usability, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in BI or analytics engineering, or a closely related domain (flexible at the company's discretion for exceptional aptitude in other core areas).
  • Expert SQL skills and advanced experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting standards, metric definitions, and dashboard usability principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of translating stakeholder needs into technical specifications.
