Job Description

athenahealth offers a collaborative, product-focused environment where Product Marketing helps turn customer, market, and product insights into strategies that drive business results. For this onsite role in Massachusetts, you will shape an always-on go-to-market approach for athenaOne, helping strengthen how the platform is positioned, understood, and sold.

What you’ll do

  • Build and sustain an always-on athenaOne GTM approach to grow market understanding and demand beyond individual product or feature launches.
  • Translate strategic direction and ambiguous challenges into structured plans, recommendations, and next steps.
  • Create core messaging and materials, including sales presentations and one-pagers, to clearly articulate value to target audiences.
  • Coordinate with Product Marketing Managers across areas such as Clinicals, Revenue Cycle Management, Patient Engagement, and Platform to connect individual product stories into a cohesive athenaOne narrative.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of product innovation across the athenaOne portfolio, ensuring priority capabilities are reflected in broader portfolio messaging and GTM strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement and other marketing teams to turn positioning and messaging into commercial resources and programs.
  • Work with Customer Advocacy and CSM teams to develop year one customer stories and boomerang stories.
  • Analyze seller feedback, customer and prospect conversations, win/loss insights, competitive intelligence, and commercial performance to improve positioning and GTM execution.
  • Conduct targeted research across the buyer journey and provide recommendations to address identified opportunities.
  • Build strong feedback loops with Sales and commercial stakeholders to understand what resonates and where additional support or refinement is needed.
  • Support recurring commercial performance reviews and retrospectives, translating insights into follow-up actions.
  • Deploy triannual release messaging updates across market-facing endpoints and sales assets.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, including experience in healthcare technology.
  • Proven experience developing and executing GTM strategies for complex B2B products, platforms, or portfolios.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex products into clear, compelling messaging.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to independently drive cross-functional work forward.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence across Product, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize customer, market, competitive, and commercial insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong judgment, with a track record of turning ambiguous direction into tangible outcomes.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with motivation to grow as a strategic product marketer.
