Marketing Support Specialist
Job Description
Marketing professional responsible for driving initiatives, branding, digital communications, community outreach, enrollment support, and event coordination with oversight by the Director of Family Engagement, Marketing, and Legislative Advocacy in a hybrid Davison, Michigan setting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support district wide marketing efforts including branding, digital communications, community outreach, enrollment support, and event planning.
- Create and contribute content for the MIPS website and digital channels.
- Develop promotional materials and communications.
- Plan and execute school events.
- Support student recruitment initiatives.
- Develop partnerships and opportunities for community engagement.
- Assist families with program information.
- Report to the Director of Family Engagement, Marketing, and Legislative Advocacy.
- Prepare advertising documents for marketing purposes.
- Apply website design and maintenance skills as needed.
- Manage social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and other channels.
- Design custom graphics and promotional materials.
- Create and disseminate digital and written communications such as ads, newsletters, social content, website content, mass communications, and promotional materials.
- Contribute to MIPS newsletters for staff, students, and families.
- Oversee MIPS social media presence on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter/X, Instagram, and additional platforms.
- Maintain the digital marketing calendar and monitor performance metrics.
- Assist in designing printed and digital marketing materials.
- Develop Learning Lab signs and graphics.
- Carry out other duties to support the School’s mission, goals, standards, and Education Program.
- Assist with developing website content.
- Conduct market research and collaborate with marketing professionals to support campaigns.
- Design graphics for use in advertising and promotional materials.
- Follow up with new enrollment families.
- Assist with planning and implementing admission events and major school events including field trips, Graduation, Music and Art events at the Hives, in person events, BBQs, charity events, and daily social media posts.
- Lead planning, setup, cleanup, and hosting of major school events.
- Assist with securing facilities, planning programs, selecting menus, and organizing gift bags.
- Coordinate event participants and manage event logistics.
- Implement community outreach efforts.
- Plan programs involving students, parents, and school leaders.
- Host events and coordinate involvement of participants.
- Provide organizational and logistical support for additional school events as needed, such as Admissions Events, Back to School Night, Count Day, Spirit Week, and Graduation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing and communications.
- Ability to multitask effectively and work well in a team.
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-starter and independent thinker, able to make and implement decisions with limited direction.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Canva, video editing tools, and rapid adaptation to new technologies.
- Poised, punctual, and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of managing complex tasks.
- Ability to work within a budget and maximize limited resources.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and respond quickly and creatively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate volunteers and teams to meet deadlines.
- Experience advertising documents for marketing purposes and applying website design/maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and others.
