Job Description
The Marketing Specialist/Community Liaison at Stoddard Baptist Global Care in Washington, DC, on site, manages marketing and external education activities for Stoddard facilities and supports referral relations and market research.
Responsibilities
- Shape and promote a positive public image for Stoddard entities by planning programs, educational sessions, community events, and other outreach opportunities.
- Create and execute referral-relations programs with hospital discharge planners, case managers, physicians, and managed care organizations.
- Apply sales techniques including cold calling and strategic contact planning.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of educational materials such as brochures and other marketing collateral.
- Support management in crafting advertising materials and communications that accurately reflect Stoddard services to customers.
- Contribute to marketing assets like video scripts and ad layouts, then present to management for approval.
- Oversee the design and layout of presentations, newsletters, event materials, research papers, and brochures.
- Plan and conduct market research activities, including surveys, syndicated material analysis, focus groups, conjoint analysis, and situational modeling, guiding data-driven plans.
- Support market share growth through cold calling, contact planning, and monitoring activity via call logs.
- Maintain accurate data in the Common Working File, with emphasis on resident face sheets.
- Submit monthly Admissions Department reports to vendors and the Executive Clinical Director as required.
- Coordinate and approve tours and visits to Stoddard facilities to educate guests.
- Assist cross-functional teams with pricing direction, new product launch strategies, and product positioning.
- Promote trade shows, events, and advertising campaigns.
- Initiate and approve requests to exhibit at conferences or events and deliver community in-service presentations to ensure outreach appropriateness.
- Identify opportunities for new program development.
- Coordinate with the Admissions team to support positive communication needs.
- Periodically accompany the assessment nurse or clinical liaison in the field.
- Review assigned marketing projects and existing materials, gathering competitive intelligence.
- Arrange presentation aids and provide feedback to speakers as needed.
- Develop and coordinate multimedia packages such as brochures, letters, displays, and video for specific assignments.
- Develop direct mail programs and monitor campaign performance to ensure success.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role within a hospital or long term care facility.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and extend hours when needed.
- Creative, resourceful, and capable of taking calculated initiatives to meet client expectations.
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and speaking, with the ability to convey insights clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Confident, outgoing personality with forward-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to listen attentively and translate details into actionable plans.

- Basic understanding of the health care system, Medicare, Medicaid, discharge planning, community resources, and long-term care regulations.

- Ability to move intermittently during the workday and travel to hospitals and health care facilities.
- Proficiency in speaking and documenting in English.
- Resilience to cope with mental and emotional aspects of the role.
- Good health and emotional stability; capacity to relate to ill, disabled, elderly, and at times challenging individuals.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
