Job Description

The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism seeks a Marketing Manager to oversee regional marketing initiatives for the Lake Placid and Whiteface Region. Based in Lake Placid, NY with a hybrid work arrangement, the role serves as a conduit among ROOST, local businesses, community stakeholders, and regional partners to ensure marketing programs align with ROOST's strategic goals. The position offers a salary range of USD 57,000 to 62,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation and implementation of marketing activities for the regions.
  • Scope, review, and approve all components of regional advertising campaigns, from design and content to emails, video post-production, and media buys.
  • Write content for pages, events, and stories, as assigned.
  • Serve as project manager for larger initiatives such as annual guides, website rebuilds, and new content.
  • Manage social media with support from the Media Coordinator to ensure all efforts are timely, on-brand, and on-message; oversee engagement and respond to comments.
  • Collaborate with the PR team on FAMs, PR priorities, and press releases.
  • Serve as liaison with the Olympic Authority (ORDA).
  • Provide regular communication to the Lake Placid Community Liaison about ROOST's program of work for business and community partners.
  • Coordinate ROOST and the Whiteface Region activities, including welcoming new businesses, coordinating contests, representing ROOST at regional events, conducting business visits, distributing materials, and sharing information in person and via B2B emails.
  • Serve as the Events Calendar/Insider Project Manager for Lake Placid and the Whiteface Region.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in managing social media accounts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the organization at community meetings.
  • Familiarity with destination marketing and knowledge of tourism-related initiatives is a plus.

Program of Work

Miscellaneous

  • Work with team members to achieve established goals.
  • Attend regular staff meetings.
  • Generate a daily activity report.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
