Job Description

Part-time Marketing and Communications Manager role based onsite in Bastrop, TX, responsible for day-to-day communications, content and campaigns, digital operations, brand standards, and production coordination for Feed the Need Missions. Compensation: USD 24 - 28 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual communications and campaign calendar from planning through delivery, ensuring appeals, events, and campaigns stay on schedule.
  • Create and send the monthly Mailchimp email featuring blog highlights and organizational updates.
  • Oversee social media on Facebook and Instagram, connecting posts to blog content, campaigns, events, and field moments from weekly sites.
  • Visit weekly sites to capture authentic photos and moments that support digital content.
  • Develop copy for quarterly donor appeal campaigns, accompany emails and social posts, and manage the full production timeline from draft to delivery.
  • Publish and refresh website content, including employment and events pages.
  • Coordinate with an external developer for structural or technical changes beyond content publishing.
  • Identify the target audience for each piece of content before writing, including donors, prospective donors, active volunteers, church partners, and the broader community.
  • Utilize AI tools daily to enhance writing, research, production coordination, vendor communication, and problem solving, while applying editorial judgment to maintain brand voice and formatting.
  • Build and manage Mailchimp campaigns with list management, design, scheduling, and basic analytics.
  • Manage WordPress for content publishing, page updates, and basic site maintenance.
  • Schedule and coordinate social content using scheduling tools.
  • Monitor Google Ad Grants performance, either directly or in coordination with an external vendor, and assume accountability for results.
  • Support Gala auction platform management and other organizational technology needs as capacity allows.
  • Assist with Salesforce list organization and donor data management in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Track performance across channels and adjust content and strategy based on what works and what does not.
  • Maintain the Feed the Need Missions brand guide as the quality control reference for all public-facing materials, digital and print.
  • Apply copyright and intellectual property standards, sourcing licensed imagery, creating original content, and ensuring ethical use of third-party materials.
  • Source and manage print vendors for mailers, banners, event signage, and site materials, obtaining competitive quotes and proofs, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate material refresh for active weekly sites, including flags, banners, and branded items.
  • Oversee volunteer merchandise orders for approximately 300 to 400 volunteers, coordinating sizing, vendor selection, timelines, and delivery.
  • Brief and supervise graphic design contractors for projects beyond templates, providing clear direction and enforcing brand standards.
  • Coordinate event marketing production, including sponsorship materials, campaigns, event signage, apparel, and post-event communications.
  • Manage trailer wrap updates and branded vehicle materials in collaboration with vendors.

Requirements

  • Active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and full alignment with the Feed the Need Missions Statement of Faith.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in communications, marketing, project coordination, or a related field in professional or ministry contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and consistently deliver on time without close oversight.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to work within a defined organizational voice; work samples required as part of the application.
  • Working proficiency in WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, and major social platforms.
  • Genuine AI and technology fluency, with active daily use of multiple tools for writing, research, production, and problem-solving.
  • Practical understanding of print production including file formats, specifications, vendor coordination, and proofing.
  • Clear understanding of copyright and intellectual property standards in a communications context.
  • Local to the Bastrop, TX area with flexible availability including periodic evenings and occasional weekends.
