Director of Marketing and Communications
Job Description
Based in Stamford, CT, the United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the development, execution, and management of marketing and communications strategies that advance the federation’s mission, deepen community engagement, and support fundraising and programmatic success. Responsibilities
- Partner with senior staff to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, digital, social, print, and events
- Oversee a volunteer marketing committee to shape policy and gather community insights
- Manage the federation’s website to ensure it is engaging, accessible, current, and aligned with branding
- Lead email marketing strategy and calendar, including newsletters, announcements, and fundraising appeals
- Design and manage social media content strategy, scheduling, and engagement across platforms
- Develop lead-generation initiatives to support fundraising and program goals
- Refine audience and market segmentation to tailor messaging and boost engagement
- Provide marketing support for events, including branding, promotion, and onsite presence
- Create dashboards with real-time metrics to assess marketing performance and keep leadership informed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; advanced degree is preferred or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of professional marketing experience
- Experience working with volunteers, particularly in the nonprofit sector, is highly preferred
- Demonstrates a passionate, optimistic approach that motivates others to pursue improvement and excellence
- Strong planning and organizational abilities
- Effective written and verbal communicator, capable of engaging both one-on-one and group audiences
- Flexible mindset to adapt to evolving priorities, processes, and systems
- Competence in managing volunteer/professional relationships professionally and effectively
- Solid knowledge of Jewish community, culture, and practices, with a passion for UJF’s mission, Israel, and World Jewry
Compensation and Location
- Salary: USD 70,000 - 90,000 per year
- Full-time, in-person, exempt
