Specialist, Social Media Marketing
Job Description
NBCUniversal is seeking a Specialist, Social Media Marketing to steward the social content strategy for Universal Destinations and Experiences. This hybrid role in Universal City, CA centers on publishing engaging content, cultivating communities, and delivering real-time storytelling that spotlights Universal Studios Hollywood, Halloween Horror Nights, and Universal Fan Fest Nights. The position works with cross-functional teams to amplify brand conversations and audience growth across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day management of the company’s social media presence.
- Serve as the public voice for owned social channels.
- Support social content lifecycle including planning, programming, publishing, tagging, and maintaining the editorial calendar.
- Develop real-time engagement strategies to foster community.
- Monitor emerging platforms and channels; propose new initiatives based on observations.
- Invent creative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories and grow the audience.
- Provide ongoing reporting on fan sentiment and the impact of outbound content and community management.
- Track growth of social media brand pages and other pages as needed.
- Establish and implement leading social publishing practices with engagement benchmarks across all channels.
- Build relationships with internal theme park stakeholders and IP partners to coordinate cross-promotions.
- Own content from concept through filming, editing, routing, and publishing photos and videos.
- Stay informed on social media trends to keep brands relevant and topical.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required; preferred majors include Marketing, Business Administration, English, or Communications.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing or social media.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with basic photo and video editing, creating, and sharing.
- Basic experience with shooting and editing video is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
- Experience with native social channels and third-party tools such as Omniture and Sprinklr.
- Willingness to attend on-site events and on-property content shoots, which may require early mornings, late evenings, or weekends.
- Hybrid work arrangement, generally in-office a minimum of four days per week.
