Social Media Marketing Assistant

Southern Sky Brands seeks a Creative and organized Social Media Assistant to grow and manage its online presence across platforms, handling planning, posting, engagement, analytics, and light content creation. This onsite role is based in Canton, MS, with compensation in the USD 18 - 25 per hour range.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a content calendar for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other relevant channels.
• Plan and schedule daily posts aligned with brand objectives, promotions, and product launches.
• Respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions in a timely, brand-consistent voice.
• Monitor analytics and key metrics to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for growth.
• Capture and edit light content such as behind‑the‑scenes clips, product demonstrations, and customer reactions.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media with campaigns, email initiatives, and influencer strategies.
• Stay informed about social media trends, platform changes, and viral content formats.
• Support influencer collaborations, giveaways, and user-generated content reposts.
• Maintain a cohesive brand aesthetic across all social channels.
• Provide weekly insights and recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and conversions.

Requirements

• Highly organized and concise in execution
• Creative and driven with a proactive approach
• Outstanding copywriting, social media, or video production skills
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalents
• Experience with Vista Social or similar social media management platforms
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices
• Analytical and goal-oriented
• Ability to work effectively without close supervision
• Confident written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• High level of computer literacy on Mac OS and Windows
• Mobility with iOS and Android operating systems
• Understanding of MS cannabis advertising regulations and laws
• Must hold a MS Cannabis work permit
