Senior Technology Director
Job Description
Onward Search is seeking a Senior Technology Director to steer the technical strategy and delivery for its digital team within a communications strategy and design company. This hybrid on-site and field-based role in New York, NY invites a seasoned technology leader to shape the next generation of digital experiences. The position offers a salary range of USD 250,000 to 300,000 per year and requires at least 15 years of hands-on leadership in technology, including agency experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive technical roadmaps for web, mobile, and integrated digital ecosystems, focusing on scalability and security.
- Partner with executive leadership to shape client proposals, pricing models, and resource forecasts.
- Set and communicate architectural direction and platform recommendations, covering CMS choices, development frameworks, and DevOps practices.
- Direct development teams to maintain high code quality, efficiency, and long-term maintainability while monitoring emerging technologies such as AI.
- Translate creative and strategic concepts into practical, scalable technical solutions to support delivery and scope assessments.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in full-stack web development and technical leadership, including a minimum of 5 years in an agency setting.
- A minimum of 3 years in senior management, guiding cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of component-based architectures, cloud hosting, APIs, and DevOps practices.
- Experience writing technical SOWs, RFP responses, and project briefs within a creative or digital agency context.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks, integrations, performance optimization, and content management systems.
